And finaly, the new Swiss colours made an appearance, ERJ 145 HB-JAW landing from Hamburg
The good old Crossair colours made an appearance then, as Saab 2000 HB-IZW landed. I’m not quite sure where it was coming from, it was either Bruxelles or Vienna, I didn’t note down which of the two Saab’s that landed about the same time was which.
next to depart was Swiss ERJ-145 HB-JAR, off to Barcelona.
Next up was another Régional aicraft, ERJ 135 F-GOHA, departing to Nice.
that’s shocking… they should both be somewhere the punters can get a look around the cabin, not on the bloody roof. 🙁
yes, and I’ve got a couple of beauts from this morning, too. Should hopefully all be on http://www.airlinepics.com today.
The KAL wasn’t to great, though, the Sun was in the way… but I finally got a widebody in pax configuration rolling this morning.
I think they’ve neutered the nose.
It’s supposed to be a Steel drum.
I can confirm I’ll be down the pub in front of the big screen telling the manager to hurry up and phone up Sky for the Setanta PPV, whilst wishing I was at East End Park, and salivating at the thought of those Steak Bridies…
I posted this last week…
The first batch of A319’s are due to go to easyjet Switzerland, and deliveries will start this autumn (September/October), with the first UK based EZY 319’s due to be delivered to the LGW base in March next year.
A total of 21 319’s are due to be in easyjet colours (both the mainstream airline and easyjet Switzerland) by the end of 2004.
Obviously, I suspect those of you around the London airports (and John Lennon International, of course) may well see an EZY 319 well before March, on one of the routes to either GVA or ZRH.
You got to see your Swiss Saab, then, Adrian. 🙂
Which c/s was it in? I’ve now finally got a glimpse of a 2000 in Swiss colours, last Friday, rather than crossair ones.
as far as I’m aware, only HB-JMA has been delivered so far, with it having started operating revenue services just over a month ago. A further 6 are due for delivery this year, with the fleet of 9 being complete by March 04, replacing the MD-11’s on longhaul routes.
The a/c names are…
HB-JMA Matterhorn
HB-JMB Dufourspitze
HB-JMC Zumsteinspitze
HB-JMD Signalkuppe
HB-JME Dom
HB-JMF Liskamm
HB-JMG Weisshorn
HB-JMH Parrotspitze
HB-JMI Dent Blanche
They still had licences then, remember BA carried on Concorde flights the day after the crash, and the licences weren’t revoked till about two months alter.
There was, however, (I think) an AF concorde which returned to CDG from JFK empty, and, obviously, the proving flights after the refit… I don’t think they had licences then, unless theys were some jind of provisonal thing.
I think BA’s the only company flying LHR-NCL, they operate 6 flights a day, with equipment used being the 737/757, A319/A320. They’re also QF codeshare flights, if you’re booking downunder. Flight time is just over an hour.
By road, it’d be a pain in the arse, as the Motorways are invariably clogged up around public holidays, driving to Newcastle’d probably be around 6-7 hours drive.
If you want to take the train, it’d be GNER from Kings Cross, http://www.gner.co.uk taking about 3 hours.
ok, I stand corrected..
BAWC has leased this B744F from Atlas Air for several years now, wearing the Chelsea Rose c/s pictured here. This aircraft however has now been taken over by new Stansted-based cargo airline Global Supply Systems, in which Atlas has a 49% stake. GSS will take over the BAWC contract from Atlas, using N495MC (now G-GSSA) plus several other ex. Atlas B744Fs.
