Moenchengladbach is a decent sized town as of itself… probably best compared to EMA in Britain, with both BHX and MAN reasonanbly close to…

Moenchengladbach is also quite close to CGN, as well as DUS.

they haven’t got 320’s on order, anyway, only 319’s.

If you only saw it from underneath, are you sure it was an EZY jet?

yeah, the Tay was used on the F100, as well as the Gulfstreams.

The Fokker 100 used either the 13850lb st rated Tay 620-15 or the 15100lb st rated Tay 650-15.

Whereas as the Fokker 70 used the 9900lb st rated RB.183-2 Mk 555-15P.

UPS had a retrofit to the Tay carried out by Dee Howard to it’s 727-100’s in the late 80’s/early 90’s, as the previous P&W JT8D weren’t up to 1990 noise limits.

Dee Howard also offered a retrofit on the 1-11 to Tay 650’s.

yeah, I think I heard it was definately happening, with the recent twinning of Glasgow and Havanna… but I can’t remember any details.

yeah, CO use the 764 during the very high summer season, as well as the 762.

Nothing wrong with the 752, it’s an excellent aircraft. Unfortunately, however, I can think of few worse things to do than sit in a single aisled a/c for 8 hours… hell, the longest I’ve ever sat without walking up and down the cabin is about 3 hours…

Air Canada also still have the Toronto service in the summer, both they and American’s Chicago service are operated by 762’s.

Northwest only pulled out because they required the DC-10 they were using on the route for their Pacific fleet, load factor wasn’t a problem for them.

    missed it myself…

Wish I hadn’t bothered with the Liverpool game, though… not the most entertaining game I’ve seen this season…

talking of possible chance meetings, Ren, you weren’t by any chance operating a jibe camera at Hughenden when Ulster visited in the Celtic League in late November/early December? I was standing beside the operator the whole game, and it was live on Grandstand.

yeah, a fairly new British Midland 737-400 en route LHR to either BFS or DUB, can’t remember which in ’89.
There was an engine fire, the engine was shut down, and the flight crew consulted with BD dispatch, who said bring the plane back to Castle Donnington.

Anyway, it crashed a mile or two short of the runway at EMA, when the power failed. (as it appeared, the wrong engine had been turned off… :S)

    squeak squeak squeak.

Nah, to be honest, I don’t really care what the seats are covered with, although a couple of hours on leather seats after a hot departure lounge dosen’t sound very interesting…

yes, the all day deli is a favourite complaint of mine…

What’s wrong with going back to a scone, clotted cream and Jam?

I was talking to a stewardess on a pretty empty 757 coming down from GLA to LHR a year or two ago (I was in the back row, so I was able to chat to the rear attendant whilst taxiing around Heathrow). She said she hadn’t had any positive feedback about the doggy bags from passengers, and that none of the crew liked them, either (this was maybe about a year after they were first introduced on the Shuttle services, shortly before they were intoroduced across the shorthaul network).
Anyway, last summer, I was on the 6pm shuttle from GLA, and there was a full meal served, I mentioned to the steward how good it was not to have the deli, and he said unfortunately, it was only due to teh time of the flight that it wasn’t a deli.
They also still serve a full english breakfast on flights departing before 10:30am, so there’s obviously no real reason for them not being able to serve something decent, as long as the time is right, so why can’t they? *sigh*

I still haven’t met a member of BA staff that likes the damn things, either, although one or two of the members on here quite like them…

I’d still rather have my scone and jam back, though…

After all, it’s British Airways, not New York Airways… 🙁

that’s your view, of course… I prefer the comfort of the slightly wider 320 Cabin diameter to the cramped, early 1960’s 737 cabin…

(although if you put two RB211’s on it and call it a 757, I don’t care how cramped it is… 😀 )

you’re complaining about the view you get from the 752?

Spare a thought for the crew on Concorde, who sit well over 30 feet ahead of the nosegear…
