AMCA looks like they borrowed forward fuselage styling from the MiG-29, stretched it, and attached it to a PAK-FA that eliminated the centerline tail/hump.
So does this signal a move by the Germans to skip Euro-centric fighters in the next generation?
MiG-27 is an extention of the MiG-23 family. MiG-23B was the first move towards what later was redesignated MiG-27. I never bothered to distinguish between the many offshoots.
There is a grainy photograph showing them line up to takeoff. Otherwise it’s a pretty disintegrating story. No evaluation. No war games. No weapons.
The pilot of the MiG-25RB flies using his instruments because the visibility out of the cockpit is too limited to be of any tactical value. And it lacks sensors that would detect bogies around it. It doesn’t have the analog datalink of the bomber destroyers and couldn’t be passively vectored to a target, a target they wouldn’t probably see. And reconn in those days took hours or days to disseminate to the leadership. The film wasn’t digital and processing happened on the ground.
Supercruise is a luxury for those that hoard fuel. The ROK will never have that luxury for long. I think cooler minds will prevail and they’ll aim for a $50-60 million machine.
Wouldn’t they be better off with M88 than EJ200? More compact and efficient motor.
Also, if they go bigger internal bay they should go more in line with Sukhoi’s wide engine spacing.
That’s a good looking Flogger. I’m more into the MLD than the BN, but is still nice looking. The BN should have evolved swivelling hard points under each wing and moved away from armor towards sensory. The airframe was multi role, but the actual variants never were multipurpose. Too bad they are fading out their usefulness fast this past decade. One of my favorite 3rd gens.

I am still convinced Iran offers up the best boogie man scenario. Its so convenient they have F-14A’s to put into the plot. And the more I think about it, the Su-37 is a safe super villain jet. Its not the Su-35, and it wouldn’t paint Russia as the bad guy nor knock their engineering. And knowing there is T-50 on the horizon its not dismissing their products. If anything its perpetuating the myth that they design the best a2a missiles.
The biggest stretch is that Saegeh is MiG-28M.
I still think you focus the movie on a world tour of magnificent backdrops to fly over. I think you aim for 150 minutes and keep the action fast, furious, and low brain function to enjoy. Instead of the supporting female an instructor you throw her into the squadron. Make the audience wish it was never over, but spring the crisis on them the last hour of the movie. Big finish. Leave it open for a third w/o Cruise and centered possibly on the new star.

I can see why they need their current programs.
Estimates tend to begin with weight and add in factors from there. I’m inclined to believe it’s less than a 2:1 average between Super Hornet and Gripen, but not a lot. They should have kept the F/A-18C/D line available for land-based contests, the SH is too big IMHO. Why go SH for your basic customer when you can get the basic functionality from Gripen or F-16? If they want top of the line they might choose F-15E derivatives instead, especially if the customer already has F-16’s.
1.5 seconds is an eternity to a computerized shad. It lives only to quickly die. Too much warning and a ship defense will neutralize it.
It’s not a new machine is the culprit. The smooth appearance of newer planes is the exterior coating. The underlying sheet metal is still going to be rough. However, you cannot compare the skins of F-22 and F-35 when they don’t use traditional sheet metal skins.
