Don’t be so sure they will not. Russia needs cash for future development and ROK is willing to spend cash for it. The ROK can manufacture anything the Russians can design, so really all they need is the engineering know-how behind the project.

USAF should have kept EF-111 Raven in service, especially since there was no replacement available in a near future. Raven offered much better performance than USN’s Prowler in terms of speed/acceleration, while its avionics could have been upgraded to Prowler’s level.

Speed and acceleration aren’t the key metrics for electronic warfare. The EA-6B was rightly retained and EF-111 retired.

F-4’s have a 19 year head start so to outlast the F-4 they’ll need to be flying until around 2040.

Jf-17 is more conventional design; whereas the Gripen is designed around Sweden’s needs of operating from dispersed airfields, ease of maintenance in the field, and network-centric operations. Basically until we know more it’s comparing a third generation design that’s been reworked versus a true fourth generation design.

The gap you identify is probably just the edge of the RAM laminate.

F-111, like the Mirage IV, were retired to sate the Russians.

So the PAF will operate what air-to-air missiles in the 2015-2020 timeframe?

What’s a Snow Owl? If ASIC designated the J-20 surely they would honor it’s Russian design roots by naming it Foxtail or something along those lines.

What engines appear to be candidates for an indigenous KFX? The Japanese Shinshin project has something akin to an M88. The MCA is using Kaveri, right?

If firing ARMs makes you pack it up and move then it’s out of action and the ARM won. S300 wasn’t intended to shut down for ARM, rather it was meant to operate under conditions of an attack. The S300 system is also meant to operate in an aggressive ECCM environment.
