Thanks Australia, you beat the world this time 😀 .
Just watching the Region 4,2 disc Spider-Man 3,which comes in a cracking tin case (along with a SM3 mouse mat).Region 2 comes out on Oct 15th with Region 1 lagging behind with a release date of Oct 30th:eek: .
Loved all 3 pics in this franchise.Anybody know if there’ll be a fourth  .
Changing the subject slightly, we used to have one of the famous Dansette record players in the 50’s. It was in a cardboard case covered in some sort of checked beige plastic material, the actual deck being cream plastic with a fully automatic record changing system, for any record, at any speed. My brother obtained it along with some interesting records including Buddy Holly stuff on 78’s. The volume was so crap that we had to play it in the bathroom on an extension lead plugged into the light socket in order to get any sort of buzz. My uncle on the other hand had a fantastic radiogram and piles of 78’s, we had to change the steel needles quite regularly.
Regarding the classic Dansette record player,I’ve still got one.Red and cream with a carry handle on the side, made from ply-wood(not cardboard)and,to my surprise, the bulb still works.
This was my first music replay system,on which I played the latest offerings from Dusty Springfield,The Ivy League,The Beach Boys,The Animals, etc.
I stand to be corrected but steel needles were not used on Radiograms.Did you mean Gramophones? Steel needles were used to playback sound from 78rpm shellac discs.Radiograms used the replaceable stylii available from your local Boots the Chemist:cool: .

From the cover-mounted cd on September’s Mojo music magazine, which gathers together tracks covered by The Rolling Stones and also includes tracks covered by their contemporaries……
Irma Thomas-Time Is On My Side.
Chris Farlowe-Think.
Gene Allison-You Can Make It If You Try.
Chuck Berry-Come On…..the Stones first single.

Mustang or Charger ?
At 1 hour 5 minutes and 25 seconds, cue cool Lalo Schifrin chase music.
At 1 hour 8 minutes and 34 seconds,a lone cop, driving a Highland Green Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback starts chasing two really bad guys driving a Black 440 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi.
Turn up the volume and listen to two classic cars doing what they were designed for……..going very fast.
This has got to be Bullitt, which won the Oscar for Best Editing (and was nominated for best sound).Just over 10 minutes of the best car chase ever.
The Mustang had to have loadsa modifications (suspension, engine mods ect) to make it look good in the chase. The Charger was bog-standard.
P.S.
Had the pleasure of sitting alongside,at the lights,an immaculate Black 1970 Dodge Challenger (the car they used in Vanishing Point) a few weeks back.Don’t see many of those in my neck of the woods.
I wound the window down and just sat there when the lights turned green, listening to it’s beautiful engine sound.

They don’t re-do the whole film in 3D.Our eyes can’t handle it.If you’ve ever seen an IMAX film you’ll know why. It’s gonna be the last 20 minutes or so,the same as the last Harry Potter and Spider Man films shown in the re-IMAX’d form.Still, well worth a trip. The sound system is amazing 😀 .

The registration site has had over 20 million hits already.Looks like we’ve got more chance of having intimate relations with a religious leader than getting our grubby hands on a ticket.
