Ooooh, you’re an evil man, Barry! 😀

It’s just the lengths I go to to try and part a Scotsman and his money! Maybe that’s why I’m on the naughty step :dev2:

Not had time to watch it all, just a quick flick-through,but what I saw and heard was very good.Well up to expectations. And yes,David Bowie did sound and look good.
Looking forward to the 2 disc DVD later this month 😀 .

P.S. Ask Santa for a set of headphones for Christmas 😉 .

DVD arrived this morning. After a quick flick through disc 1 (the main concert),it seems that there is an extra song on the disc that is not on the “book of words” list. Will get back later.

    EDIT…..
All sorted. If you select Play All Tracks, there’s an Interval track that isn’t listed in “the book of words”,therefor everything after Where We Start has to be +1.
Part 1 starts with Speak To Me,Breathe,Time,Breathe(reprise),then goes into his “solo artist” tracks.Part 2 starts with Shine On You Crazy Diamond(the guitar intro is so laid back and soul-full).The camera-work and lighting are superb on this track.I would like to hear Renfrew’s opinion on this as he’s “in the trade”.Not only does it show the mastery of Mr Gilmour but also shows The Royal Albert Hall in all it’s glory. The last time I was there was with my Daughter. We went to see Al Green a couple of months ago.
Then after Fat Old Sun,we get to the best bit IMHO.Coming Back To Life,High Hopes,Echoes(Great to hear this again.),Wish You Were Here,Find The Cost Of Freedom(with Crosby & Nash),ending with the immaculate David Bowie(every-body in The Hall gives him a standing ovation even before he starts) guesting on Arnold Layne and Comfortably Numb.

Gonna watch Disc 2 tomorrow. It includes 13 bonus tracks including Astronomy Domine and Dark Globe.

    Sunshine.
The Sun is dying and after a previously failed mission 7 years ago,a second bunch of people is sent out to shoot a massive bomb into it to save humanity.
This is no Armageddon or The Core. It’s a cross between Event Horizon(which I hated),2001-A Space Odyssey(which I love) and Solaris(which had me scratching my head),as did this film for the last 20 minutes or so.It’s not a bad film but could have been much better, given Director Danny Boyle’s track record eg. Trainspotting and 28 Days Later.
The picture is superb on my Region 3 DVD as is the sound(Dolby or DTS).The speakers get a good workout.

I think Roger Waters is ex Pink Floyd, not our Dave. Despite the strained ‘Lets be pals again’ concert in Hyde Park, something could happen again with the others.
I am looking forward to this concert, I think he is a very original and clever guitarist, apart from being innivotive, he proved he could, and was willing to play, basic stuff when he toured with McCartney a few years ago.
I was lucky enough to see him on his first tour with Floyd in 69 when he had replaced poor old Syd.

Good to see that I won’t be the only one on this board looking forward to this broadcast 😎 .
Will probably listen to The Division Bell afterwards 😉 .
