ive allready been there, and seen the owner.. some are spares ships, and some are for future projects,if you trawl through this site there was a old thread about my day there, very interesting place,
I certainly got the feeling they were NOT for sale, and many were simply given to them, like the wessex with the union jack on, it came from RAF colerne.
I was enquiring about and asked directly to the museum about the most messed up gutted wessex airframe they had outside, it was a definate no,
however , i did contact a paintball company that had got a danish whirly from there , and he said thus, “we paid a very lot of money well over a grand for a completely gutted wreck for our paintball park, problem was they wouldnt let us take it away, and in the end we had to go in mob handed and virtually take it by force” his words , not mine !.. so dont shoot the messenger Please 😮
So in the end after trying and writing , i gave up, i even got a letter from them stating ,no airframes were up for disposal, at mo,
this was about a year ago, i doubt things have changed much, they might be persauded to sell one of those EH101 ??. modern fangled things they have lots of old airframes of there though, but they wont be cheap.
sorry to put a dampener on weston old chap, other than that, a great museum, with a good dedicated work force, and some cracking exhibits..
here here Tangmere !!
well I enjoyed it, and would rather be able to see programs like this, than the usual big brother, or talent rubbish..
just to see the mock dogfight was worth it on its own, two jet pilots trying to fly stick a rudder..old style, with no computers
Hate to see pictures like this when there’s thousands of us out there that cherish aircraft like this. I’m into classic cars and waited for years to get one until I had somewhere to keep it safe and dry. We’re not just owners, we’re custodians for future generations. How on earth does a first generation British jet end up like this in the 21st Century ? Shameful.
as allways.. i suppose it boils down to money, space , etc,
you either got it, or you havent 🙁 .. I havent , not for a whole aircraft anyway..
T7 is my fave meteor too.. so many of them flew around here in the early 1950s, lots from westonzoyland, and lots of other bases .
hopefully something will be done with the T7 one day.. but only time and money will tell :(
No and no.
oh dear 🙁

An old maritime saying:
Very Apt Badger 😀 .
be aware.. how much rot you will have to chop out.. mooring fees, marine ply,.. work, bogging.. paint etc.. .. this is before trying to aquire original kriegsmarine items.. … loads of money..
