I also wondered , what engine did he use, and the Spandau Guns look marvelous, I wouldnt mind one of them on my wall, I know real ones are
exremely rare, I imagine in the states there is a Pattern for making very good
    Mock up MG08 Spandau guns,
Nearly found some on E-bay, But Ebay pulled the plug before i could bid:(

with all these copies, I wonder what next, A Gotha Bomber perhaps, ???:D

There are reduced scale Curtiss Jennies, should you want someone to fly with.

Some are even available as “ultralights”.

Problem is storage again, and the main problem, I dont have a pilots licence 🙁

    nice idea though:)

You could try posting on TheAerodrome forum, which has a specific section for replica builders. Alot of knowledgeable folk on there, and an amazing array of projects on the go, including a full-scale Sopwith Snipe being built by a guy in Australia (it’ll have a radial rather than a rotary, but it’s still an AMAZING bit of work). There’s also a Fokker Dr.1 project up for sale on there, click on the “Dr.1 (Sands)” thread.

Many THANKS for the Link, Cor they got all them nice planes to choose from,
    Fokker DVII , the lot,
I only want the cockpit bit, I imagine finding replica Instruments a parts VERY hard and expensive though, especailyfrom that Era , but i imagine the end result is brilliant ,given time a money 😀

I’ve changed the short nose back to a Swiss nose now,

    Bruce

i can understand wanting to turn it back to a swiss spec, But you gotta admit, the short nose type look gorgeous, where as the swiss nose does look a little odd,
I hope you didnt bin the short nose ??

    Model kits

I must have about 150 unmade Kits 😀

But live in such a small house i have nowhere to make them:(, so they will stay until i retire 😀

    i got a few beautys, 1/32 tiggy moth, 1/48 Do17z, a load of french ww2 aircraft,
i love making em, But with 3 cats 2 teens and a mrs who classes models as “Clutter”

and no where to make them, i give up,
perhaps we can have a page that people on here submit photos of the models they have made ??, would be nice to see peoples work;)

    worn out motors

Being novice with Civvy stuff, I wonder if anyone has a idea what a engine would cost if it was a complete unit, But out of hours, tired and worn out, for use as a ground runner, ie something to fit on a piper, like the Lycoming engine, I imagine there is alot of these about, but have no idea of what sort of price range they fall into ,

barnstormers seem full of engines but to buy and transport to the UK is Prohibitive, so i wondered where in the UK you would find this sort of thing,

would such items be sold at aeromarts etc ??
