Seriously, the change makes sense,Deutsche Post have bought DHL and their colours are a bright colour yellow like the DHL colours so really a colour change reflects it’s owners.Quite nice, better than these bland wavey lined aircraft that are coming out.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-11-02 AT 09:03 AM (GMT)]All of their 3 A330’s have been grounded by Sabena Tech. because they can’t pay their bills.
It is sad that yet another Belgian airline is going under.I feel sorry for the people who will probably loose their jobs again.
However, this is the problem of mis-management and no proper business plan. Was it ever likely to survive?
Looks like Air Holland could go under as well…

Funchal, they can get an A340 on that runway now 😮 I’ve seen pictures of it and it looks rather frightening.Weren’t airlines refusing to fly there because of safety fears?

    RE: Guy Fawkes

Guy Fawkes Night?Guy Fawkes Week!I’ve been hearing fireworks since Halloween,it really annoys me.It’s fine to have fireworks on the night but it is all drawn out now and it is getting stupid. No consideration for people nor the animals which are frightened to death.

    RE: Question?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-11-02 AT 06:57 PM (GMT)]There are a few reasons as to why it was not a success. The main reason was because the Mercure had tough competition with the DC-9 and 737-200.These two manufacturers had been in the business for years, whereas Dassault was a new entrant.

Some US carriers drew interest in the new Dassault airplane. But it became quickly obvious it would be tough for the French manufacturer to sell its product. The Mercure did not also match the range of its competitors which strongly restricted outside France.

The launch timeframe of the Mercure was particularly unfavorable as well. The oil crisis and the global downturn effected it badly.Basically all airlines were forced to reduce capacities as well as costs, and the introduction of an all-new airplane was not particularly welcome.Air France’s decision not to order the Mercure, brought a definitive halt to the program, making sales almost impossible from then on.Sabena’s selection of the 737-200 over the Mercure stopped any chance of ever gaining any further order for the aircraft.

    RE: Kansai Airport Is Sinking

Yeah I know it is an old thing.Just thought it would be good for a discussion 🙂
Surely the designers had enough knowledge to understand that the airport would sink? Some terrible blunders in the calculations in my opinion.
How do they plan to stop the sinking? Will it ever stop?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-11-02 AT 03:49 PM (GMT)]The Dassault Mercure was never flown by Air Littoral,it was bought by them from the old French airline Air Inter. They use them for crew training now at their base at Montpellier. The colours were applied after the aircraft was grounded.
Was not a success the Dassault Mercure.Only airline I think operated it was Air Inter. There is one in full Air Inter colours at Le Bourget air museum.
