RE: Something to boil your blood!
Going international soon I suspect…
RE: Holidays.
I flew Air Malta…I would say an average airline.

RE: Branson Admits He Made A Big Mistake.
Branson bought and airline which was in financial trouble and hoped to turn it round, though its taken along time to do it and he has lost millions. From the word go it was a mistake. In Belgium when Virgin Express started, who’d heard of them? While in the the UK he had a fantastic name.
These were the days when Easyjet and Ryanair were nothing like the airline we know today and so there really would of been no competition for a Virgin low cost airline. It would of been a huge success in my opinion.
RE: Holidays.
Where you staying dcfly?I was in Malta last year. Its a beautiful island full of history. The people are friendly and the food is excellent (try the rabbit yumm!)
The airport itself is modern and bright. The departures hall has good views of the tarmac and has views over the stands. There is an selection of shops and cafes also.
On arrival you have a nice pattern around the island.Descending over Gozo, across the east coast over Valetta and then out to see and coming round over a large port, quite impressive.

RE: Golden Oldies
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-10-02 AT 11:21 AM (GMT)]Indeed, superb pictures.A reminder of the days when American airlines operated the 747 in to Heathrow and when the TU-154 was a regular sight with airlines such as Malev,CSA and Aeroflot.
RE: What kind of aircraft does the head use?
The UK Monarchy has two BAe 146 jets and five smaller BAe 125.For longer range visits its likely that a British Airways aircraft will be chartered.A 777 was used Tony Blair’s trip to gather suppirt for the War On Terrorism last year and the Queen used an A320 (or A319?) on her trip to visit the Pope a couple of years, for example.
Were they UK not considering buying a A330 if I remember rightly?
RE: Airline Lovers Flock to Swissair Jumble Sale.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-10-02 AT 04:11 PM (GMT)]Like Vultures on to the remains of what is left of Swissair 🙁 Must of been over a year now since they went under…such a pity.
RE: Books(again)
AirlinerWorld is sent to me.I buy Aviation News monthly also.I don’t actually buy all that many magazines as I believe that most of the information given can easily be found out via news aviation sites alot earlier and in more depth.

RE: One of my favourite aircraft
What a beauty,so much character unlike some of the aircraft you find today.I don’t care what everybody else says,I would love to have the opportunity to fly on a CIS built aircraft.
Its western myth that all aircraft from the former Soviet states are bound to fall out the sky,its airline funding rather than the manufacturers.
RE: Branson Admits He Made A Big Mistake.
A small mistake,TEA was not renamed Virgin Express,TEA is Easyjet Switerzland.EBA (EuroBelgium Airlines)is now Virgin Express.
