LAST EDITED ON 19-07-01 AT 08:05 PM (GMT)[p]There are services from Manston to america.Passengers get off there cruise at Southampton or Dover (not to sure) and head up by bus,the airline that operates the routes is CC.Here’s also a link to a website about Lydd. http://www.leonardsworlds.com/airports/air-lydd.htm

RE: The loss of regional routes
JY (British European)are the best regional airline in the UK in my opinion, they have upgraded a lot of services from GCI and JER from dash 8’s to BAe 146’s.They have also added more JER-LCY services from 3 to 5 services a day. There is talk of a CDG service also being added. With JY’s agreement with DL an AF it is also much easier for passengers on connecting flights.

RE: air rage
Most airlines have banned smoking on aircraft so why can’t they ban drinking?or maybe limit each passenger to two alcholic drinks. If you live in the uk then there is a program on monday 8- 30 pm on bbc 1 about air rage and other things that affect us passsenger while flighing.

RE: Bomb on Ryanair plane
Yeah i heard about this on the news, some kid just wanting to get a stupid joke.Don’t people think of what this does to the passengers and the distruption this causes.I remember 2 years ago at Jersey a full A320 of british airways going to Heathrow was delayed for 8 hours because some idiot said there was a bomb on board. The plane was towed to the end of the runway and left for full inspection, this caused disruption to every flight that afternoon and evening, what got me was that my disabled cousin was on board. Was there any delays due to the hoax at your airport?

RE: Concorde Flying again
Again it is EXCELLANT!!!news that Concorde is up in the sky again, only hope it can return to passenger operations in the near future, some reports said at the end of summer.Unfortunately you can’t say the same for the Air France Concorde’s,does snyone know anything about them?I really miss seeing the CDG-JFK Concorde flight flying over my house at around 4pm every afternoon and hearing Concorde’s sonic boom.
Really good news,

RE: The loss of regional routes
Rail is the best answer for people who live in mainland Europe, but us in the channel islands are right out in the english channel.Ferries take around 4 hours to the UK and to france around 2 hours. To get to the capital we have to go by plane,so it is vital that we retain our services to London and other UK cities.Unfortunately slots are very hard and expensive to obtain,in Jersey BD said they would do a 3 times daily flight to Heathrow if the Jersey States could pay for slots at Heathrow, this has not happened though. At the moment there is concern about the loss of our Gatwick routes. If GCI and JER lost our LGW route then it would be disasterous for our economy and our people.

RE: Lydd Manston Southend & Shoreham
I don’t know much about these airports, but Manston has a saturday summer service to jersey with an Aurigny BN Trislander.Lydd has services to Le Touquet with the airline Sky trek which goes via Shoreham with BN Trislanders.Lydd wants to expand and would like to become a new Stansted.

RE: Regional airlines
Its just that BA have given up a lot of routes from smaller regional airports such as Guernsey,Jersey,Inverness and Plymouth Newquay to Heathrow. There was stupid talk about JER and GCI loosing there Gatwick routes.BA have also got rid of many long hall routes from LGW which is a pain for us because we have to go on a bus all the way to heathrow. Many people are now going to Schiphol,CDG and Zurich.BA now are interested in doing a jersey-schiphol route, although Aurigny do,do a schiphol route from GCI any person from jersey has to go via guernsey.

RE: Regional airlines
The largest GCI can fit in is an A320 of BA which used to come in from Heathrow but that was stopped 4 years ago (Thats BA for you)Although last year i saw a 727 up at the maintance hanger.Jersey has a summer BD FK 100 service to liverpool on a sunday (it might be an erj 145,i’m not sure)it also has a saturday service to liverpool with bry with a dash 8 i think.Last year bac express did a short360 service to liverpool.
Liverpool airport looks quite a good in terms of aircraft and airlines there,i watched it on itv’s airline.Great new name for liverpool airport, liverpool John lennon.
