These are designated as βJanetβ flights. They are indeed used for flights to shuttle workers back and forth between Area 51 and Las Vegas. They are isolated to a remote part of the field where there is a fenced off terminal with parking for 2000 cars. Strange stuff….
No CDG is busier than both Heathrow and Frankfurt in terms of movements. Below are the movements and passenger figures for these three airports from the year to date.
Passenger Figures:
4: LONDON, GB (LHR) 9 196 705
7: PARIS, FR (CDG) 6 898 791
8: FRANKFURT, DE (FRA) 6 801 211
Aircraft movements:
6: PARIS, FR (CDG) 80 548
14: LONDON, GB (LHR) 73 647
15: FRANKFURT, DE (FRA) 72 718
Yes, so it is. In Europe Paris CDG is actually the busiest in terms of movements whereas Heathrow is the busiest in terms of passengers.
Can’t wait until BA and friends get T5 for themselves π It will save a lot of the annoyance and time with connections around Heathrow.
I suspect New Zealand would be a new prioritised destination due to Virgin Blue’s dissatisfaction at the proposed lack of competition across the Tasman. Would such destinations as Singapore, Bali or even some of the other Pacific islands be possible also or are the rights to such destinations already taken?
I thought it was Atlanta?
Air Algerie only operate two Lockheed Hercules aircraft as civilianised freighter aircraft. The current registrations for the aircraft are 7T-VHG and 7T-VHL with both still in operation.
Excellent pictures you have there Kev, I obviously especially like the Aurigny snap π Glad you folks all enjoyed yourself.
That must be a brilliant course to play! The Hui Hin course or something similar isn’t it?
Good to see them cutting the overcapacity they have, Switzerland is a small country, it doesn’t need such a large airline. If cutting the route network means their survival then so be it.
Wysiwyg, what was the Saab doing on inter island? Weather diversion?
I think they make the aircraft look a lot bigger than it is. I saw them on a Pegasus 737 last year and I was amazed at how good they looked.
Flybe. technically do not have the right to sell tickets on the JER-GCI/GCI-JER sectors till around 30 minutes before departure so it wouldn’t really be counted as a true flight but rather a continuation or a double up before going on to the UK as it is not viably used as inter island.
The Aurigny Shorts 360 does it in around 10/15 minutes with the Trislander just under 20. If you want really quick then the Lufthansa or SATA aircraft that sometimes comes in would be there.
They were advertising for A320 pilots to boost capacity a few months back, pretty good leasing rates on the aircraft.
Stick to the 737NG in my opinion, why they actually need the A318 is questionable.
Plus the SAA flight is required to make a stop in Sal by the FAA on both sections of the flight due to fuel issues. This adds an additional 90 minutes on the journey.
