Yes, an interesting airline, which has seen quite tremendous growth over the last ten years and has shaken off a rather primitive conception to meet today’s expected quality and demands of the modern passenger.
It now seems to be growing into a vibrant business sector for the country with a profit of $650 million and a 15% growth in passenger numbers since 1997. With continuous growth in their sector of south eastern Asia (seems well positioned for connections Laos, Cambodia and certain remoter areas of China plus internally in Vietnam) and excellent links to major regional hubs, the future will be quite bright for this regional carrier. Competition to Malaysian, Thai and Singapore airlines will only make them stronger
New aircraft, further destinations and strategic relationships with other airlines around the region and also worldwide plus co-operation with tour operators for the vital tourist industry, it seems as if further growth will be easy and inevitable for this airline.
Is it Bee Wee for BWIA? I always like that because it sounds pretty fun plus quite commerical to say.
Ayline is another I like for personal reasons.
There is one of them. It doesn’t have the BA logo and tartan tail anymore.

If I were a photographer (or at least had a good camera) I would take some for you. I haven’t seen the other aircraft that I think is from Scan Con. I have not been up the airport since last Thursday and I think it arrived on June 1st so maybe this weekend though I am not sure.
Wysiwyg, any details? 🙂
“When they said nothing could be as bad as G-BMLC I didn’t believe them.”
Would be even more memorable than “No way BA/AA”.
Congradulations 😉
Yes, I think that maybe is the new A380 factory ready for the end of 2003.
To be honest it put me off travelling Monarch. A shoddy excuse for an aviation programme. Until ITV reach the standard of BBC’s Airport, I will not be watching it.
I though the A330 captain was very pleasent though…
Yup all Flybe. flights out of LGW are on the 146 except some winter Channel Island services which are with the -Q400. I fly GCI-LGW on Flybe. fairly regularly and while that 6 abreast is cramped, the service is normally good. I though they were quitting the Belfast service?
They were still in discussions with both alliances, no decision had actually been made. Linking up with Lufthansa is a pretty big sign though of what their intentions might be.
Our Aurigny Dinard flight was cancelled plus the Twin Jet Jersey-Cherbourg- Orly flight was cancelled. Nothing major but still quite annoying to see it happening yet again.

Greekdude,
From my understanding US Airways was blackmailing Pittsburgh because it was too expensive to operate in the current market. In the contrary, Charlotte and Philadelphia are much cheaper to sustain. Also the O&D traffic is not there so it would be turned mostly into a regional jet operation?
From the troubles at Pittsburgh plus competition from a few other large airline operations in the area (UA at Washington and US at Philadelphia), I was assuming that Philadelphia would probably be one of the beneficiaries of US joining Star? As US would not like to feed connecting passengers off through another hub as competition to Philadelphia, the major US hub with a few other star operations like LH and AC also, I was thinking that an area like Pittsburgh could be shut down. As a hub and turned to regional jets?
EAL own Palmair right? If their service is anything like theirs then it should be pretty good. EAL club in the “Sunshine club” or something similar?
I have heard of them and I forgot that they had the A319 on order. Got mixed up with CCM and CGM, the shipping company
