Service start up suspended till October. I seem to of jinxed the airline.
News today that BA will place its code on all flights from Chicago to Manchester and Glasgow with AA being able to place its code on destinations in the UK, Europe and Africa plus the BA New York flight from Manchester.
Flybe. codeshare with Continental and Delta from a few of the UK airports. Quite convinient for people in the Channel Islands and Belfast as they can connect on to the flights through one ticket same with them at Southampton for the European flights, plus you can get the BE FF miles on Continental so it works out quite good. I would see them as a Skyteam associate member in the future.
AVENSA? I would probably agree with Comet though with VIASA because of the slogan “The Airline of Venuzuala” which they were before their demise.
Greekdude,
Do you see this as a possible sign of US Airways’ demise at Pittsburgh? Only United and US from Star there, will they forsake growth for Philidelphia as a Star gateway? Just interested.
I thought so. The casual dressing plus the drinks, even though Southwest is a low cost carrier they still serve free drinks I have read.
Who are they?
Then again East Midlands and Cardiff are working quite well for bmibaby at Jersey just they are annoyed at the landing taxes they have to pay. Just I see the pricing structure changing after a while.
That is going to be a codeshare with BA is it not? Yippy at last Oneworld doesn’t seem to be so much of a joke across the Atlantic!
Jersey would only really be competition in the summer months as Flybe. are only operating it on a summer basis. I believe the flight goes via London City as well so it could be a pulling point that NOW are direct. The prices are quite expensive, I know Flybe. are offering less than £45.
Jersey only has a population of 85,000 give or take a few, so unless they are planning to cater for the business community in the winter then I doubt it would be a success. Jersey is virtually dead in the winter with tourists and islander’s can not fill a 737 daily to Luton so really it depends on demand. Plus what happens if the 737 gets stuck there over night by fog? That will lead to problems.
The price structure is interesting and the management seem very well organised and enthusiastic. Their idea of a “new era” seems like a good idea though with set prices you would have to fill that 737 near enough to full to break even so how long that system will last I don’t know. GO and locally Le Cocqs had this system at the start and both got rid of it.
Have the AI/AF alliance plans gone sour?
“The power of goodbye” though I am not really a Madonna fan.

Looking like a 737-300 operation.
US joining Star will be good for expansion of the alliance in Central America and the Caribbean.
Southwest.
