From my understanding the ERJ 170 prototype has been down to EXT. Flybe. were interested though only if they could do an exchange for some of Flybe’s current aircraft (CRJ’s). That is what I read, not sure if that is the case.
The company is very indecisive just like BA. We will have an LCY hub, nope. We will use the CRJ 200, nope. We will go to Brussels, no. We will call ourselves Jersey European, no British, no flybe. See what I am getting at? On the other hand it is a good airline and it is doing brilliant at the moment.
But yes according to a few sources the CRJ 700/900 is being considered. Justplanes reported it last week:
Flybe. is possibly in final negotiations for an order from Bombardier for the Canadair RJ700 and/or RJ900. The order could be for a total of 35 to 45 aircraft including options.
Yup offically announced, check flybe.com for info. Also expect to see a CRJ 700/900 order.
I was at Menorca last year. It was ok but very crowded. I liked seeing the Spanish airlines.
Don’t really have a favourite airport except the obvious, however, I did enjoy CDG (Not for the actual terminals, horrible places) but for the spotting. SAA 747SP, Thai 747, SQ 747, Air Transat L1011s, AF aircraft, TACV etc. Absolutely brilliant for variety.
I would of thought a more Irish orientated name would be more appropriate for the airline, Aer Cork etc? JetMagic reminds me of an American basketball team not an Irish airline.
Brazil was a Portuguese colony and its official language is Portuguese. Just have to look at TAP’s niche routes to see the influence. Portugal also colonised Macao in China and Goa in India. The rest of South America is mainly Spanish speaking like Chile, Mexico etc, however, there are a few different former colonies. Guyana was British, Suriname Dutch and French Guiana well….
Italian operator (Think it might be part of AZ?) does a lot of charter flights to and from the UK. To be honest I think it is your average charter experience!
Flybe. are also now threatening to pull off the JER-GCI-EXT and JER-GCI-BHX routes because the passengers are just not there for the routes. Unless both the Guernsey and Jersey Transport Authorities cut landing fees by 50% then Flybe. will be leaving the routes. Quote from thisisjersey.com,
‘On Exeter in particular and on the Birmingham-CI routes at times, 78 seats could be too large for the current twice-daily services,’ he said. ‘It may be that we will have to reconsider the operations.’
I think it has been put on hold for the moment though I understand the 135 was going for certification at LCY.
I wonder how the Q400 is fairing down to Milan? Seems like Flybe has outstripped sales so it must be doing pretty good?
BA and AF have done the aircraft proud; they have offered an impeccable service on such a fantastic piece of technology. Now the aircraft is a real cash cow with the costs of maintaining and running the aircraft sky high for the two airlines. BA and AF can’t afford it and would probably make much more cash putting a 777 or A340 on the JFK Concorde route. Makes sense to stop flying it.
Not what I expected. Colours seem a bit out of position. Don’t really like it.
Olympic Aviation operate the 717 daily into LGW in the afternoon from Thessalonika, Greece’s second city. AEBal I do not think operate the 717 into the UK, I think it is mainly on Spanish domestic.
Excuse the simplicity of my question, but if this guy was from the future why did he not buy a lottery ticket or some means by which you can make a lot more money and not get caught out? Obviously Mr Time Traveller is not as clever as we thought :p
