I am thinking that the aircraft will probably have to operated at a limited capacity?
hmmm, that is a very contemporary design on the aircraft. A fine photo!
Wysiwyg,
That is what I was trying to find out. I was under the impression that the ERJ 135 was not certified for LCY operations yet. I’m sure the aircraft must be nearly in its complete stage of complying with the LCY regulations, however, it seems Jetmagic are cutting it rather fine if they are to start operations in April.
Well I don’t think there is any reliable information about why Airbus chose the A380. I think it is more theories than actual evidence. Did Airbus ever release any information about why they chose A380?
I don’t think you can mistake Kai Tak for any other airport with that spectacular approach 🙂
I’d say missing and presumably permanently skipped is what the A350 to A370 range is.
Correct me if I am wrong, but is the ERJ 135 certified for LCY operations yet?
I don’ t think it is low cost, after all what airline in their right mind would offer low cost to LCY? I think it sounds more of your all included scheduled airline who are dependable, offer good service and good quality.
I am pleased for Cork to get a new airline, shows still some considerable growth is occuring.
Yes, brilliant pictute. I love those sort of views always reminds me of when you are staring out of the aircraft window and see a plane whizzing past you…superb.
Sadly I will not be travelling to Istanbul (shame). Recieved the flight details today and was informed that the stopover was in Izmir and Antyala.
British Airways actions were right, if you can not restrain a child then action has to be taken to ensure the safety and well being of the passengers.
Well in Europe there are still gaps, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and certain places in Germany for example. However, my tip for the future is Eastern Europe as the next growth area for the low cost airlines. Next year, 2004, there is going to be a “Big Bang” of activity in this region. Why? -Because in May 2004 Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary and Latvia all join the European Union. This will allow massive growth because theoretically the EU has open skies, as soon as you step out of this boundaries of the EU then the interests of the flag carrier intervene making it difficult for anyone to get in. But this all should change when these Eastern European states join the EU, thus allowing growth in the market.
Secondly the APD is four times higher if you step out of the EU so making money on these types of routes is very hard until EU membership is granted.
I can guarantee that you will see growth here with the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair ready to pounce, the latter airline having already apparently bought an airport outside of Prague . Then you have all those nice German loco’s getting closer to the boarders. Personally I don’t blame them, Tallinn, Bratislava, Riga just like miniature Prague’s, look at their city tourism industry and see what these cities could be like. Though where this leaves Czech, Malev, LOT etc is another question,
Yup retaining the Gatwick slots is a necessity for the Southwest with many local businessmen expressing this view because the region undoubtedly needs its links with the capital to retain its healthy economy plus the well being of the regions people.
I think a new carrier is definitely needed because if you compare other regions of the UK to the Southwest then you really do see how poorly served the area is. So a new carrier will provide a totally regional outlook and will create new jobs and opportunities in the area.
Swiss simplicity. The Swiss livery looks just perfect in that sort of setting. Superb picture.
Looking at the website, it all looks very professional and very encouraging. The airlines aim seems extremely clear and its strategy on price structure based around zones is very interesting and will encourage people to fly with them.
How long the price structure will last though is anyone’s guess, look at GO for example. However, I think it is promising and definitely taking low-cost carriers into the ‘second generation’ as mentioned on the website.
Destinations seem above board-I get a sense that they are appealing to the business traveller more than the leisure traveller.
Launching from LTN is my only concern though…Easyland!
I hope it is a success and not just a paper type airline, but the site and their announcement all seem genuine so I hope to see them soon!
Has anybody seen their promises at the bottom of the home page? If they can keep to that then they are bound to be a success :p
