Great shots Dan, how many 737’s can they fit in there ?

Hope your dad is finding new opportunities soon. 🙂

I think I’m right in saying that one fully reassembled, there is about 1 foot clearance between the hangar roof and the top of the tail. Since the hangar doors are much lower than the highest point of the roof, then clearly (as the photo indicates) there is no way Concorde is coming out without either her or the hangar losing bits of their anatomy!

It looks like a tight squeeze in there and clearly they can’t bring her out for the odd foray into the sunshine. With one foot of clearance between tail and roof I have to wonder how they’ll hoist it up for reattachment ?

    I can see it fine.

Darn and blast, up until now I had no problem seeing pics on here.

Anyone know what I need to do to see pictures and make animations animate ?

    Ren.

I think you have worked out how I do it and bowled me a googly.
    They don’t look like Logan.

You’re right, I’ll never guess it.

Logan it is and they are Scottish and that’s my cousin on the left playing guitar. You might be hearing a bit more about them if their trip to meet a certain Sony A+R man in Washington DC bears more fruit than the interest from the US already.

Shameless plugging over now, I thenk yoo !! 😀

When did UA pull out of GLA because I have no recolection of this service.

It was around 10 years ago at a loose guess ? I remember that service and other US services from GLA that were pulled for various reasons and not just the PAX loads. It only ran for a few years.

The UA service was one of a few that started from GLA after the goverment ended the protection of PIK’s status as Scotland’s only transatlantic airport in 1990 or 91?. Air 2000 were already operating out of GLA to Florida with a quick pit stop at PIK to honour the agreement.

Northwest to Boston was the only other service from Scotland to the US at the time, they quickly moved to GLA.

Well, that would explain the blue tails.

Allen, check out this link for Air One:

So are they some kind of Lufthansa subsidiary ?

They seem to have a United Nations of aircraft registrations and wide variety of 737 types from classic to modern.

I’ve used DUB several times, it does seem a little congested I agree. The little eurohub arrivals hall reminds me of a bus station more than an airport.

It just needs an overhall and some terminal expansion. Road access could be better too, it always looks like a traffic jam outside the main terminal.

G-DOCM is leased to Deutsche BA from the 16th of May and G-DOCZ is WFU from April 30th according to Jethro’s listings. The other reg’s mentioned appear to be still in BA service ?
