I agree, very interesting stuff. 😉
I’m thinking of a trip to LHR for business in july perhaps.
Might meet some of you chaps if you’re around
Why not propose a meet then Sandy ?
Hiya, thanks for the comments. I promise i will get some more pics up by the end of today.
Allen, the Air Madrid 330 is an ex-Volare Airlines Aircraft (I-VLEC) Which was in storage at Filton for around the period of 2 months. There is an airbus factory/offices at Filton. Airbus’ test aircraft often visit.
Ah….. 😮
Great retro stuff again Steve, I’ll dig out some more classic GLA stuff by Ian Oswald later. Right now I have to go and shoot the Celtic game. 😮
Thanks Allen, is that a Freddie Laker skytrain in the fourth photo???
Indeed it is, sitting outside the big maintenance hangar at GLA on a typical gloomy day.
Hey Steve,
I found this Dragon wings model for you at http://www.aerojets.com you can get 10% off by signing up for the forum at http://www.400scalehangar.com
There’s quite a few Ansett models available on that site.
That looks a lot like W*A*S*P in the second picture ? Met their manager “Duggie” in a bar just off the strip in LA a couple of years ago. He was from London and happy to buy a round of drinks for us Brits abroad, which was good as it was $50 a feckin round !!! 😮
Mind you, the waitress dressed in head to toe, painted on, black leather kind of made it worth it. :p
Nice pictures brings back memories but also makes me feel old 🙁
Yer only as old as you feel, or indeed… as old as the woman you feel. :p
Nice pics, can I ask why the A330 was being delivered from Filton? Is Filton a final assembly plant for A330’s, I thought Toulouse handled that ?
I’d prefer one of those space age sound generator things like I had on my Raleigh Chopper in the 80’s, great for scaring old ladies and nuns. 😀 😉
I always imagine people with cycle bells to shop for clothes at Laura Ashley and carry freshly baked bread home from the village bakery or perhaps a small lap dog type animal in a front mounted wicker basket. 😮
Oh my god!!! someone else who sees things the way i do, well done Hand :). I hate the tabloids, they’re a scurge that does nothing but stir up **** storms . Give me a broadsheet ANY time
I had an argument with a friend lately about The Independent relaunching in a tabloid size format. He reckoned people would no longer buy it as it was now a tabloid.
I argued that it was still the same paper, just in a tabloid size paper format. He said people would consider it to be the same as The Sun, Mirror etc and if the same thing happened to his favourite paper The (Glasgow) Herald then he’d stop buying it.
After about three hours of trying to assure him it’s just a change of paper size and not content, I gave up and bored my eyeballs out with a cork screw !!! 😮
What a great report and pictures so far Dan, excellent stuff as always. 😀
If i were you Ren i’d chase that one up.A month seems a long time wherever it’s coming from ?
It’s coming from Hong Kong, I’ll chase it up on Monday I think, having checked the seller’s feedback it seems he’s had two other lost in the post complaints and doesn’t seem too bothered about replying to queries. 😮
Those three models pictured at the top came from a dealer in Taiwan some 6 days after I ordered them ! 😎
I could never understand why they made those so called Iraqi prisoners wear satin shirts with satin flags stiched on them ? 😎
What’s Steve Stevens doing these days Kabir? I saw him with Billy Idol yonks ago.
Always thought he deserved a bit more glory than the spiky haired snotty one. 😀
