Good work Ian, you obviously care about the forum as you’ve gone to great lengths to acheive this long called for moderation.

I never doubted common sense would prevail and look forward to enjoying the forums in all their glory once more.

    😀

Top report Michael and a shame about the return flight. Doesn’t Thailand look gloomy in those pics, I thought those were your LHR landing pics for a minute? (lol)

Your report certainly doesn’t fit into the ‘crap’ file, it’s just the sort of thing we need more of on here just now.

    Well done.:D

question for you really – ive told that one of my geminis may be worth abit more than the others normally are. Virgin Atlantic 747-400 in the old red and white livery. i think shes nicknamed lady penelope. do you have any ideas if shes rare or not and how much she might fetch on the likes of ebay!?!

    cheers,
    LGKR

Rare (ish) most gemini jets models are made in limited runs of 2000 or so. I gather your 747 is the same. It should fetch a price of £40 on average on e-bay. It could be higher or lower? It’s reasonably sought after, but at the moment the current livery 747, A340-600 and Concorde are the sought after models in the Virgin range.

Your model was a mainstream release as far as I know, the current models are only “officially” available as on board purchases, hence the high premium demanded by the e-bay hustlers.

And lastly this shiny chrome American 777-200, appropriately registered N777AN, one of the two we saw at the Gatwick meet in December last year…

It could very well be a Herc, there are a few civvy versions regularly doing the night mail and newspaper shifts across the South and to Ireland too. Air Contractors I think ? Sorry I can’t be more specific.

Another positive tale from Iceland and it’s intruiging aviation success in recent years.

Hmmm… Yes we know Stuart and at the rip off prices being touted on E-bay at the moment for one, you’ll have to excuse me if I pass this time. 🙁
