ISO is the film speed, or in digital cameras the gain level.
In basic terms the lower the ISO number the less grainy your pics will be, the higher the number the grainer.
Higher for low light levels and lower for nice bright light levels. A higer ISO rating can also help you capture fast moving subjects when you have no control over shutter speed. A faster shutter speed and lower ISO is preferable for fast moving subjects to be honest.

Seriously though, it would depend on what they actually did. There are far too many variables invloved to have a ‘one size fits all’ punishment.
Yes… you can’t afford to generalise and stereotype passengers. People unfortunately are people and all types of people have a nasty side when stimulated, not just sports fans or those we like to write off as pressure cookers.
As much as we all enjoy flying and it’s various aspects, for many people it still induces high levels of stress, tiredness and discomfort. Stress, tiredness and discomfort can cause people to act in strange ways, especially when that head chemistry turns to euphoria upon the introduction of alcohol or other substances to the general equation.
Personally I think these factors may heavily contribute to the cause of such so called air rage disturbances, and yes particularly when those factors are appeased by alcohol or whatever ?
I imagine the vast majority of “air ragers” may regret being so bloody stupid, it’s certainly a subject that merits a little more research and a little less generalisation of characters ?
Yes I remember those statements, I also recall a certain Mr Branson expressing an interest in expanding the Virgin Atlantic holiday network through Glasgow and Edinburgh pre 11/9/01.
Maybe we’ll hear something positive for the Scottish airports soon ?
An interesting thread… I asked the question when Concorde retired as to what might become the new transatlantic “champagne ” services, and Privatair obviously already had one eye on the ball.
It would seem there are a number of fledgling “premium” airlines trying to cater for that market now, isn’t there a proposed 757 service on the table led by Sir Norman Tebbitt..? Blue Fox Aviation or something similar ?

Its exactly that kind of closed mindedness that got the utopia tails ditched. The Utopia scheme was an inspirational scheme, using art from culture all over the world. From a shantii town in south africa to a sky scraper in new york, from 5 year olds to 90 year old, artists from all walks of life and all ages contributed.
They portrayed beautifull native art from all of the globe.
calling them a mess is closed minded and, to put it simply p!sses me off. I consider such remarks to be racist and typical anti cultural.
I agree… whilst I particularly enjoy the design of the Chatham Dockyard/Lord Nelson flag on the tails. I found the breadth and wealth of design on show amongst the world tails to be a really positive step in helping to make BA’s image one of a global airline.
I remember the press shots of Mrs “the bitch” Thatcher covering up the tail of a model 747 with a handkerchief and was instantly reminded of why the concept of “Britishness” is considered to be so repugnant by so many around the world.
A really narrow minded and tacky stunt I remember thinking at the time.
Just think how many backpackers you could get in one, all hanging onto roof straps ?
Is it a 2-4-2 configuration ? I flew one in Airtours days and can’t recall exactly. It did feel a little cramped though. I was sitting just behind the bulkhead area to the rear of the steps leading down to the toilets.

The 747 is the largest at GLA, although you’ll only find it occasionally.
Another approach shot by me, a shame it was so overcast as those hills in the background really light up in colour when the sun is shining on them…
Weren’t there plans on the board to launch a updated 1-11 in the early 80’s ? Essentially producing a quieter version with modern , efficient turbofans. I seem to remember this being discussed at the time but required a sizeable order from BA or something to make it work ?
When I saw the picture of it I thought Boeing had finally unveiled plans to take on the A380.
My mate John as a child flew on one and swore it was called the BAC 1-11 becuase he boarded it through the back. I tried to explain, but alas to no avail…
