Sorry Wys, speaking from experience you can’t always rely on the camera to whisper sweet nothings to your PC. A third party product can often make all the difference.:rolleyes:

What about St Tropez by Brigitte Bardot, the theme from Euro Trash on Channel 4 ?

You can buy a card reader that plugs to the PC via USB, the PC will recognise this as an extra drive (eg Drive F). You can use this “drive” to write pictures back to the memory card, space permitting. You just choose that drive as the drive to save to.

A memory card reader/USB extension cable can be purchased for around £15 in appropriate High Street stores. You could also buy a higher capacity memory card, such as a 512mb or even a 1gb to let her store many more pictures on the card.

And don’t forget, if necessary, your wife could take the memory card into a photo processing shop and get prints done that way as well.

The PCs system would crash and the publications would be late. The Macs crashed and they just wheeled a working Mac out and all was well again.
Reports were written that were never seen again.
Images went in as jpg’s and came out as bmp’s or were sent as RGB’s and received as CMYK’s – and the system wouldn’t recognise bmp’s or CMYK’s.
The archival system crashed so many times we went back to the old fashioned back-up system – “No, we’re closed!”.
Three editions a day became one, very late, edition on numerous occasions.

Now if only the money men hadn’t over-ridden the original IT recommendations and gone for the cheapest design with no system support… (Same financial advisors who asked why we couldn’t just buy one copy of Photshop and duplicate that where needed! Licences? Huh!)
