Andrew,
I hope you don’t mind, but I couldn’t resist trying the ‘olde world’ filter effect on your DH Heron pic (I don’t have any retro pics of my own).
I think it looks great and just like an old postcard from the 40’s. 😀 Hopefully you’ll agree and once again apologies for taking liberties with your pictures.

Wow.. it looks so old, you could take it on the Antiques Roadshow and they’d tell you it was 100s of years old!
And they’d tell you the livery was even older 😀

For example, if a mobile phone is in use in the cabin the flightcrew will get an occasional pulsing type sound through their headsets.
The same thing happens to cameramen if someone in the gallery has a mobile phone in close proximity. It’s a real pain in the a*se!
Like this one…
How about a Braniff A380 ? Now on sale at http://www.aviationretaildirect.com

That can’t be right, he was at the MAN meet on July 10th and has posted since then about it. I’m sure he was on just the other day ?
The BBC use them regularly to take their outside broadcast vehicles to far flung World Cup’s, Olympic Games and other sporting events.
Cheers Wys.
How’s this for ye olde world look ?

It’s the BAe ATP (Advanced Turbo prop), it’s a stretch of the HS 748.And it’s another of Wys’s favourites… 😉
It replaced BA’s HS748’s. I thought it was more a stretch and reworking of the Jetstream series of liners than a 748 reworking ?
It’s quite normal for a 747 to ferry a spare engine on it’s wing. When I mentioned the anniversary of the Air India bombing recently the plane in question was ferrying an engine back from Canada to be repaired at it’s engineering base.
As for the missing engine, did it fall off ?
You should have sepia’d the Heron and DC-4 pics for a classy 40’s look. In fact I think I’ve got a button somewhere that makes pics look old as the hills ? Great pics you lucky so and so ! 😀

HUGE!!! Looks like its gonna stomp on that Beech aircraft behind it.
(lol) Are you sure it’s behind it ?
Yes that would be worth a look, there’s precious liitle evidence on the forums as to whether or not the magazine takes any interest in any of our discussions.
Of course detaching the magazine names from the forum names seems a little odd or am I going loco ?
Not really, but I think whatever they replace the Bae 146’s with will help to sway their long haul fleet decision
