I suppose flights I get to film on have been the most fun. In this repect I’ve hung out the side of a Jet Ranger helicopter racing up the River Clyde and I’ve also done air to air from an RAF Bulldog trainer at Leuchars. That day was good cause I got to taxi in a Tornado as well !

Its the same with Lydd, they call that London Asford Airport, when its no where near london or Asford for that matter. Weird!

So presuambly Ryanair will be setting up a base there ASAP ?

I’ve never had time to spot at Dublin the times I’ve been, just been routing through to other places. I seem to recall a lot of cargo planes parked up around the apron. I think there was a civilian Hercules one of the times I went through.

Looks like you go to some of the same spots as me for pictures. We must meet up some time for some of that runway 23 therapy.

I’ve been using my 200 mm lens until now which although very good, you still need to get reasonably close to the planes for nice close up shots. The 300 mm should improve my stuff a good bit, especially the in flight stuff I love to capture when I can.

I have a feeling you’ll be on one of their A320’s as they seem the most common site around UK airports.

It was worth the wait and I know what quality of pics your new camera is capable of. My cheap scanner is a nuisance as well.

Looks like we’ve both seen that Atlanta 747 lately (TF-ARF) I snapped it at Malaga last month.

I’m after a Canon D60 when I can afford it. Have just bought an EOS 300 with 300mm and 100mm zooms.

My first flight I can recall though was in 1981 on one of these from Glasgow to Jersey.

My first flight was on one of these in 1971. Unfortunately I don’t remember it as I was only 3 months old.
