I haven’t used it but it looks similar to my Canon EOS 500n. Canon and Nikon do similar ranges actually with most photographers choosing one camp or the other. A bit like Boeing V Airbus actually.
From the F55’s spec it looks like it has a number of auto modes as well as manual and should produce good pictures for you. I don’t know what lens comes as standard, probably a 28 or 30mm, zooming to around 80mm ? These are good for shots when you can get close to the subject. If you can afford it, try for something that zooms to around 300mm more or less, as this will let you get decent plane shots from those all to often, too far away vantage points.
There are quite often, two lens set deals available with these types of SLR cameras at a lot of retailers, so it pays to shop around.
Happy snapping and looking forward to seeing your first shots 😀

Great photos there, especially the last. There is a story to that. Airtours were testing the strength of their engines by throwing a live reindeer through it! 😮
Or is someone trying to suggest that the flights are too deer ?

These are from a little Canon digital snapper, 1.3 mega pixels, nothing special at all really…
Touchdown Malalga !
I was watching a documentary on British Caledonian and an ex hostess was talking about their recruitment policy. Good looks were high on the agenda and married or “involved” women were encouraged not to apply !
I couldn’t post a thing using Win98, much easier now on WinXP. Is this what you were trying to post Tenthije ? Very nice pic of my favourite airliner ever. Nice to see an Airliners.Net contributor on here in the flesh so to speak.
This is my favourite registration… “Use the force”
I meant to say that all these pics were shot through dust coated glass from the terminal, hence the tone and wierd reflections…

Excellent pic Ren, great quality. I’m assuming you have a digital.
It’s a good old fashioned 35mm SLR greekdude, Canon EOS 500n. Not that expensive either and mainly shot on one or other of the preset settings, such as sport mode for the inflight/takeoff stuff. I’ve got a 200mm zoom lens which helps as well.
I’m scanning them in off paper prints most of the time, when I can afford a film scanner the quality will be even clearer. Thankfully my local photo shop does really clear prints. 😀
