They said on the news channel they’re still going to show it live so fingers crossed 🙂 I’m sure a reporter there said earlier she’s going to be reporting live from the B25, unless I misheard

Lovely new reporter said about 10 minutes ? :love-struck:

hopefully the only snafu of their trip !

from the CWH “Slight delay in departure. Because of full fuel on board, we elected to tow the Lancaster onto the runway for start up to save the brakes. However flooded number 2 engine on start up. Hopefully airborne within the hour”.

well let down big time by the Hamilton TV, early morning show covered much about the build up this morning, switched presenters and not a stitch he even got a B25 twin engine plane mixed up with a 4 engine Bomber ?? he did correct himself later though. Im still watching as i dont think she is wheels up yet ? (not showing up on flightradar24 yet either :apologetic:

I can remember going to shows at Duxford be it Legends or their main September show when during the morning big band or appropriate themed music was played, i think this helped the crowd to relax and soak up the atmosphere at such a historic airfield.

During the 2010 show a tape of Winston Churchill ‘few’ speech was played as 16 spitfires taxied out it didn’t drown out the sound of all those Merlin engines and in my opinion enhanced the act like many have said it can enhance the show if played right.

perhaps during a Spitfire tail chase with a Bucon one could play simulated gun fire and even commentate as a reporter would during the time. Isn’t there a clip of a reporter describing an attack on a convoy from Dover he was watching ? for die hard aviation experts it would obviously detract from the display but for the majority of Joe Public attending an airshow it could be a worthwhile discription of what is trying to be recreated ! Just my opinion i know and probably not worth much :very_drunk:

    Hi
As one who was lucky to go Legends 2014 on both Saturday and Sunday .I did really like the two French based warbirds solo displays on Sunday after landing on Saturday.
Just wondering why no dates for Flying Legends 2015 yet .

As as been said Legends 2015 Second weekend in July !

Im blaming Mr Grey for this years weather if he hadn’t announced his retirement from public display flying last year his good graces with the weather goods as in all the previous Legends i have been to would have still been intact !!!!? Mind you Legends Friday with 30+ forecast and no shade at Duxford may have been an issue, could just see the elf & safety notice police sorry sir you cant go outside airspace because of high temperatures !!!!

I used to live here its somewhere between Canvey Island and Southend. If you look at the picture top is the end of Southend Pier, Mid centre is a Thames Barge and to the left are oil/gas containers these could be Canvey Island or on the opposite bank from the angle of the picture its probably about 1 mile the grey splodge in the middle is the top of a sand bank out in a place commonly know as the Ray Sands. Hope that helps. See image (black line is Southend Pier, red line is the Ray , red dot is the probable spot open to interpretation in or out the black cross is the approximate position of the barge and blue dots are again approximate positions of refinery containers)

“I have herd Friday ” You heard wrong…….but then weather/maint/number of pigeons on runway may affect the day and then you may be right, but currently not correct, what ever your source.

When we tried to be clever and say we were going to Old Warden the weather gods didn’t like our game so for now we just stay quiet…

3rd of the way down on the right but like i said depends on many factors
