Need some Parts AOG!!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I received an e-mail from Mike Dale. His PPRO is down with a fuel leak. He needs some parts for his fuel system.

He wrote….”would like to ask for help on a small but vital part. We need a small diaphragm in the fuel delivery system part no CH 116056 or we would settle for a pre mod part 60857. Both of them would be ideal!”
I have my people in New Zealand looking through my parts cache (but I have to buy them single malts for their efforts) but was hoping some of my “expert” friends might have some of these diaphragms.
If I have any, then they are his. It is important to keep these great airplanes flying. I am sure he would reciprocate if my PPRO was down.

Any help out there?

My Model came this week. Almost a year since ordering it from a Gentleman in the UK. It is a masterpiece. Sadly, he died last month.

I made my own landing light lenses. You need a good vacuum and a lot of heat.

I have been waiting for a hangar to come available here in Las Vegas (One that doesn’t cost $4000 a month!) WW397 AKA ZK-PPP is still in New Zealand and being carefully maintained. It is run up monthly and the systems checked. It could fly easily with just a fresh annual inspection.
I can’t allow it to sit in the sun here in Las Vegas. T-hangars aren’t good for this type of airplane as the curious and the bad guys can do some damage. Most of the hangars at Boulder City are just a tad too small for the old girl and she’s better off where she is until a suitable and secure place can be found for her.

Sorry I haven’t been on for a while, but I have been getting used to a new job, buying a house, moving furnishings and such to Las Vegas. I am in the process of moving ZK-PPP up here as soon as I can find a suitable hangar.
It is still in NZ and so are the parts. I have it maintained and it gets a monthly run-up to make sure everything is working. You can send me a message with a return email address and I’ll send my parts inventory. Maybe we can help each other.
Mike Dale here in the US has a source for parts and will almost certainly assist the cause. We do like these old birds.

PM me and we’ll see what we can do. BTW, let me know if you need manuals.

Bob, hopefully you’ll be able to fly it yourself! Maybe even with the Irishman (but not on St. Paddy’s day!

Thanks!

The Big Move

Well, WW397 is on the move again. It will be crated up and put into a container enroute to Las Vegas, Nevada. This airplane has been on more boats than most Navy airplanes. I will be keeping it in Boulder City Nevada where corrosion won’t be a problem any more and I have met a lot of warbird enthusiasts who are anxious to help get it back into great shape.
Mike Crymble is down in Atlanta and promised to come up and visit.
I reserved the registration number N397WW so now it is a waiting game until it gets here.
Oh, I also made arrangements for the wife as well!! 😉
