This is a bit of a hot potato here but i’ll suggest it none the less…..

What about a public donation pledge similar to that of the vulcan? if the vulcan can make £1 million in a couple of weeks, surely another flying lancaster will appeal to the masses? Also what about a lottery grant? it must be able to secure such a grant being such a historic aircraft?

Mind you, at the end of the day whether she flies are not, the Pantons should be congratulated for restoring such a magnificent aircraft and making it available to the general public.

I don’t know an awful lot about this seafire. Is it currently stored pending a restoration?

Also as we are on seafires, any news on PP972?

for those who attended legends last year, we can all confirm in fact the FRENCH won the battle of britain.

Well according to Bernard Chabbert anyway…….:D

That Daily mail story could be the basis of a major American movie you know.

But wouldn’t it not look at home on the flightline?

The reason i said that is that its never been on the participants list which is a damn shame. There have been a whole variety of c47s/ Dc3’s that have attended and it would nice if the spotlight was on this particluar example.

Wish i had never mentioned the ‘L’ word now……

would be nice if ‘drag em oot’ was at legends this year. Mighty fine looking c47.

it disappeared for a few months last year to be stripped down and assessed by ARCO, so nobody can say that have’nt tried. Mr Blair is very much a buy em, and fly em type of guy, so the last thing i’m sure he and his team want is to see it grounded whilst in the UK. It sounds like another case of Beauracratic red tape. The more of these planes fly, hopefully the CAA will look into what their counterparts on the continent are doing and reconsider. But mind you Pigs might fly first….

Mind you even they would have trouble getting a permit!!!
