If nothing intervenes we definitely intend to be there! 🙂
Nice to see a new event on Scotland’s aviation calendar. Well done on organising this!
I must admit I’d never heard of Aero 8 or Canute Air Park and the idea of a “streamlined” Pou made me smile. I found the following 2-page article on Flight Archive which makes quite fascinating reading – The day certainly didn’t go as planned!

Yup! Even the Viscount at East Fortune has gone into hiding, and was never fully assembled on site. As per #19 it was stored outside in that blue shrink-wrap for a while, and the wings were also stored outside without any covers for a period of time. It has all gone indoors again, but isn’t part of the museum display at all.
We noticed on our last visit to EF that the Viscount was no longer on display. The wings had been moved too so hopefully it’s all gone indoors prior to restoration.

there is a small cache of completely unrestored Andrew Barclay tank engines in Kirkcaldy
There may be a slim hope of survival for one of these engines! Today’s Dundee Courier reports that a plan to commemorate the railways of Strathearn (Perthshire) may see an approach made to recover one to form the basis of a memorial –
Thanks, Tony! Lovely photos. The Desford was a spritely and regular performer at Strathallan between 1974 and ’78. Be nice to see it back in the air again.
A few photos taken in the passing in June 2015 –

Wow, lovely! What a great idea! Thanks very much for posting 🙂
The book “Vampires And Fleas…” by Alec Brew states that there was also a plan to buy DC-6B G-SIXA and operate it on charter flights “although this proved a scheme too far.”
Hi Meddle,
The Class 26 moved from Methil in March 2016 destined for the Heritage Centre at Whitrope Siding south of Hawick. The move is shown on this Youtube video –
Had a wander round Harrington airfield near Kettering in Northants. Interesting remains of the airfield and Thor missile site and a museum to visit too ( Harrington/Carpetbaggers Museum)
Lovely video, Jason. Great view you had from up there! Thanks very much for posting 🙂
Visited Fife Airport at Glenrothes at the weekend and were very fortunate that the short time we were there coincided with a visit from this lovely little Bird Dog. Its arrival during lunch prompted a quick dash away from the table to catch him landing!

Not sure of the latest news but STV did a brief report/update on the situation with the Strutter a year ago –
Having a quick resume of the year’s activities – finally got round to uploading this one to Youtube – Terry Brandt running the Curtiss OX-5 engine on the Jenny prior to flying – zooms in to the valve gear at approx. 0.15 to give a good view of the rocker arms, push rods, etc.
