There is a little more detail on this old thread if helps.

Thank you 🙂 The bit in that thread linking a certain episode (the one with the Pup that I haven’t seen yet lol) to a certain place (Chipping Norton in this case) is just the sort of thing I am looking for. Everywhere I read about it different locations seem to pop up! Was also trying to place the location of Becket’s Hill station (though I suppose it may not actually have been a station at all!)

Stunning photos! Saw the Comet on its air test last Summer – a wonderful sight and sound. The Fauvel looks terrifying!

The Wellington bits are in one of the smaller buildings, Tony. They come from L7775 which crashed on Bruach Mhor in the Cairngorms 23/10/40.

Thanks for posting these – the trainer scheme on the Harvard and the Fokker S-11 brings back happy memories of the examples owned by the Strathallan Collection back in the 70s and, I think, both still airworthy(Harvard ex B-97 and S-11 ex E-31)

Tried that thanks Charlie – other than cast it really isn’t helpful in this case.

Mum of a friend of mine had the exact same problem. My friend could help out most of the time but when she wasn’t available her mum used this little gadget –

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Homecraft-Opticare-Eye-Drop-Dispenser-x/dp/B004BE8756/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1433885003&sr=8-12&keywords=eye+dropper

The eyedrop bottle fits inside it and the rim fits round the eye socket so directs the drop into the centre of the eye without touching the surface. She got on really well with it and the reviews seem to back up its use for just such occasions. Might be worth a try if you can’t arrange help.

We visited East Kirkby 10 days ago – Just Jane looked amazing, a total credit to the Panton family and everyone else involved in the restoration. A real pity that Fred passed away too soon 🙁

if anyone is able to provide a picture of this aircraft while employed with 609 it would be greatly appreciated.

Paid a visit to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington last week. They have a room dedicated to 609 Squadron with lots of photos. Might be worth getting in touch with them –

All I can find is this from http://www.airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/p084.html

    PA944 PRXIT CHA M63 Benson 14-2-44 USAAF 20-4-44 HAL 5-4-45 recat E SOC 13-9-45

CHA being Chattis Hill where it was assembled and HAL being Heston Aircraft Ltd where Spitfires were both repaired and/or kitted out for the PR role.

Really beautiful aircraft. Thanks for posting the video and also the airport website link – some great old photos in the History of the Airport section.

Dunno, but I’d love to see a better pic of that colour scheme!

    Hi Adrian,

The Meteor is from Argentina’s Squad 46 team. There’s some great footage here (including glimpse of a Lincoln in the background at one point) –

I think you will like these.

Certainly do! The head-on shot is fantastic. Thanks for the historical info there too 🙂

It has been my experience that much fewer forumites visit the “Photographic” forum compared with “Historic” other than perhaps when there is a major well know airshow.

Quite agree with what you’re saying as I tend to stick mostly with the Historic forum only visiting the others when I see something of interest when on the forums home page. Personally though I’m more likely
to visit Photographic if I see a thread about a “minor” (by participant numbers only!) airshow/ location as generally the aircraft are more the types which I’m most interested in. I think the link over on Historic is a
great way to make people aware of what they might otherwise miss out on.

Great vantage point – love the angles on the Anson especially. Thanks for posting.

Lol , just for a second, thought Wales had its own air force! Now that would upset the SNP 🙂

Anyone know whether G-BSMD is still under restoration at Perth (Scone)?
