So glad Dick is getting the recognition he deserves. I hope he has a long, happy and healthy retirement.
Protection of Military Remains Act – the first article that my search found is this one http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/professional/research/landscapes-and-areas/characterisation/military-heritage/maritime-military-heritage/
Thanks.
Caution: you need to be aware of the restrictions posed by the PMR Act, especially as items have been removed. Just thought I’d mention that!
As a matter of interest what’s the PMR Act? Tried googling but it mostly refers to rheumatics!
Brings a tear to your eye. Beautiful.
Hi Swifter,
Have you tried clicking the Compatibility symbol in you address bar and clearing your Internet cache (I use CCleaner for this – it allows you to store cookies which you don’t want to delete which means you can remain permanently logged in to a site)
I haven’t had a problem with this forum but I have had other cases where the only answer was a different browser. I always keep a second one on board just in case of problems. Don’t know which browser you are using at the moment but, assuming IE,
Opera, Firefox or Safari are well worth a try.
Hope you get it sorted out.
Hi again,
Just posted on the Vintage Aircraft in the sea thread too!

Hi
Can’t answer whether it was recovered but assume this was the aircraft –

Thanks. Just did a search for the pilot and turned up this earlier thread.

Do you know what became of the crew? Did all survive? Were they all on board when it crash-landed?
Wonder if any of them are still with us?
Best of luck. You’re doing a great job. I’ll remember you if that lotto ticket comes good 🙂
Thanks for digging up the thread! It gives those of us who never saw the drawings the first time round a chance to see them now. Must say they were very well done, good detail. Wonder where they finally ended up?
Can someone please explain what was the ‘two headed Tiger’ referred to above or, better still, post a hyperlink to an image of it?
Second pic from bottom. Great website this btw – well worth a browse –
Nice little report with photos in the French press –

Don’t be tempted to use Google translate – what it comes up with is quite dreadful!
Congrats to all involved.
Yes, thanks Gilles for clarifying the bit about the Resistance. I did wonder how the airmen’s bodies didn’t also end up in the cave if it was a case of covering up the whole event! Congratulations on recovering the wreckage from such a difficult
situation.
Good photo – looks in excellent condition.
