Thats excellent!
The bomb tally really stands out in the flying photo.
Do you know if the original bomb markings were white?
Yes, that’s what Don McTaggart the X-Terminator tail gunner remembered.

REUNION OF GIANTS – The Official Lancaster UK Tour Trailer. Coming Summer 2015 – Worldwide TV release followed by DVD/Blu-ray (all formats).
It has been 50 years since two Avro Lancaster bombers flew side by side. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Avro Lancaster, VeRA, flew from Hamilton, Ontario to meet her British counterpart, Thumper—the only other surviving flight worthy Lancaster bomber in the world—the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s (BBMF) Lancaster in England.
Suddenly SeeMore…Productions Inc’s specialty is reality adventure television and the people who make it. REUNION OF GIANTS documents this historic mission as it unfolds, through the eyes of the flight crews, veterans, friends and family—all part of the bombers’ history, including this new chapter as VeRA crosses the Atlantic.
Our Lancaster encountered a gust of crosswind on landing which caused the aircraft to momentarily leave the runway. This was quickly corrected and the aircraft is fine. To allow the brakes to cool, the Lancaster will stay overnight at Humberside. It will be returning to Coningsby in the morning to begin its last 25 hour scheduled inspection.
We should be launching our UK based online retail shopping site within a few days that will feature official tour merchandise. All proceeds from sales at our mobile trailer and online store help to cover the costs of this trip. Thanks for your support.
She is alone.
Is there an escorting aircraft? In the original plan a Canadian C130 was coming over to the UK
on an exercise and would accompany it.
mmitch.
The departure to the UK has been delayed until 10 am local time Tuesday. No. 2 engine would not start but we’re pretty sure we can get it fixed and ready for tomorrow. We built in extra time into our schedule for such a thing. Thanks for your patience.
What is your ETA at YYR next Monday? Hope to get some shots. Thanks
Flight time to Goose Bay is approx. 5:20 hrs. Hope you post your shots here.
CWH Museum could you please indicate where the Lanc will be operating out of when it is not flying from Coningsby, lots of us would like to see the lanc on the ground as well as in the air. Can I assume it will operate out of Bournemouth Airport for their show weekend?
Currently, this is where we will be operating out of during appearances at multiple shows. With the exception of an event organized by the Biggin Hill Airport people and the fact that both Prestwick & Jersey are airshows, there are no provisions in place to see our Lancaster on the ground at these locations:
Aug. 14-17 Biggin Hill
Aug. 17 Southend
Aug. 21-23 Southend
Aug. 23-24 Bournemouth
Aug. 29-31 Bournemouth
Sept. 6-7 Prestwick
Sept. 11 Jersey
Sept. 12-14 Bournemouth
Sept. 20 Blackpool
One of the best locations to see our Lancaster on the ground close up will be at Durham Tees Airport on August 28th, as well as Prestwick and Jersey.
We can also be tracked using Flightradar24, our registration is CGVRA.
Transit flypasts will typically be a single pass by both Lancasters. A BBMF Hurricane or Spitfire sometimes may be with them. Not sure what the BBMF post but we will do our best to provide timing closer to the date through our website and social media. We can also be tracked, try Flightradar24 – we are CGVRA.
Thank you for that update. Quite apart from the displays many of us will see, there is now added the opportunity for many thousands more to experience a fly past.
A couple of questions. Will this literally be a single pass by both aircraft or more? And will timings be posted as normal on the BBMF website?
Thwaites Lancaster Bomber Tour 2014 – Schedule Update – We’ve just updated the schedule to include a few more shows (currently still awaiting confirmation from Duxford for the Sunday only), details when we are at Coningsby, plus several flypasts that will be occurring when transiting between air shows. We still have further additions that will be announced when details are finalized.
SCHEDULE: http://www.warplane.com/lancaster-2014-uk-tour.aspx
We are now up to speed on this. It is an event organized by the Biggin Hill Airport while we are positioned at Biggin Hill for those few days.
Thanks Mike J. I guess we will have to look into this one in the morning.

According to Andrew Panton, tickets are selling very quickly. Sounds like a sell out soon!
It’s a shame the two Lancaster’s cannot land at East Kirkby.
I wonder what the minimum runway is to operate a Lancaster from?
For our Lancaster, we require 5000′ minimum.
