Hey speaking that way is common here in Auss. When you don,t talk that way then we start to worry.Good to see a potential disaster was overted and no one was injured, except for a duck at 500 feet who got a nasty shock…
Aluminium oxide works well as a sandblasting substitute and also crushed walnut shells.Plus they are safe to use on the more fragile pieces of aircraft.

Looks like you really had a good time Mark12 and packed a lot in as well,And an absalute honour to meet you on that rushed panicky day.Still chasing that ID plate as well, the bloke who has them is crook at the moment, comes with old age I think as I,m feeling it myself. We,re still going, trying to get the frame profiles ready to send to the laser cutter mob to do up our formers.Sweet P38,much as I would love to see one fly for real, just standing next to it on the ground would be droolworthy. Are they going to be able to ground run her??
“Come in 666 your time is up.”
“But we haven’t got a 666”
“999 – Are you in trouble?”

For all out seat of your pants cinema you couldn,t go past the first Ausburg raid.Lancs at low level fighting off the 109,s and 190,s.Courage at its finest and tell of Nettleton heroic solo flight back to report of the missions sucess and ask about survivors.
I,m not betting my life on it but I reckon it,s part of the magazine trigger release.Looks real close to it on the drawing. And the silver(Aluminium)paint means it,s internal structure, not in the cockpit. The wear and tear would be from the erks shifting the magazines in and out of the wing.Did you get anything else from the dig??
Stuart check drawing 33162-5-G.The lever in it looks close??
Ummm is it a lever??Part number might help.Possibly a fuel **** lever or a part of the drop tank release lever on a Spit.Guys??
Merlin and Griffon diferences.
Been a while since I,ve heard a Griffon but I can remember that the note is a bit deeper and a bit growlier than a Merlin. That sound close guys??
