Done my friend 1216 now regards Alan
It just looks right. Fabulous video of a fine aviation icon. Thanks for sharing:)
If you take the Bus to Hal far from Marsaxlokk sit on the nearside and as you get within a mile or so of the old airstrip you might notice a farm with aero engines and aircraft bits set in the walls round the gate and in the field near the farm. I saw them a couple of years back, I am sure they will be still there.
Although not wholly British how about a concorde with a modern all glass cockpit, It’s got to happen someday and we will probably have to buy it.:dev2:
I’ll get my coat.:D
I seem to remember one at what was then Yeadon airport (Now Leeds and Bradford airport) blowing half way across the road in a gale sometime in the 60’s have no idea what happened to it or which one it was. I did have a photograph of it taken at the time, but alas no longer.
Anyone got a photo of Lancaster DV202 KM-Z lost Aug18th 1943 in the Kolpin-See close to Peenemünde supposedly visible? What looks like the outline is visible in google earth.
I think It’s a replica, At least that’s what it shows as on Google earth. Hasn’t all the real Sptfires that were outside and on poles now been replaced by replicas in this country?
Here is mine.
1….Supermarine
2….Hawker
3….Avro
4….De Havilland
5….Bristol
But then again what do I know?
Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to all.
Isn’t it fair to say just about all flying spitfires are reproductions? After all the first off the production line of each type is the original, all the rest are copies. Now to say its a genuine 1940’s Spitfire is a bit like the proverbial 10 year old sweeping brush that has had 3 new handles and 4 new heads is still a sweeping brush but is it a 10 year old one? Speaking personally it matters not if its a new build or one built from parts that have been restored from a 70 year old original Airframe, it still fills me with the same awe and admiration of those who flew them in the 1940’s. But again I suppose if I was selling or buying one then the amount of history associated with an individual Aircraft should have some influence on the price, even if it’s down to the odd genuine data plate.
Date corrected 😮
Congratulations to Martin & Katie
