If I remember there was a large scale model Wellington on display at Legends this year, Perhaps that’s the one or a new build.

If I remember there was a chunk of the middle section as Doncaster Aeroventure a couple of years back. Along with some photo’s of the complete airframe when the hanger roof collapsed on it. Not sure if it’s still there though.

Seems an interesting site, and I tend to agree with their comments about the art of restoration http://www.jneaircraftrestoration.com/AM274pages/ArtRestoration.html
    Thanks for the link

Like the Lightning lads, we have arranged our lives around the open day, so will most probably still go down and open up the Super Guppy and a few cockpits for the day, just in case anyone still turns up expecting a show.
We may also do an engine run on our Jet Provost, XN584, depending on weather and space available.

Last Sunday (24th Aug) Me and my better half paid a visit to Brunty and we were very impressed by the welcome we had. Special mention to the gents who opened up the Guppy so we could have a peek inside, also the guy getting the Beech ready for flight found time to answer questions. Shame we didn’t see anyone from the LPG, but there is always another time. A big thanks to all of you guys, We will definitely be down again soon.

Perhaps I ought to say. I have been retired for more than 2 years so a day off would be nothing to me. A public holiday would in my mind by the name alone serve as some reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in not just the Great War but the Second World War and all the others that have followed. I agree taking the kids to Alton Towers isn’t showing much respect but then taking them on Sundays isn’t if you are a Christian. I think people will do whatever they want to, maybe some will take the time to visit a place of remembrance some will do other things but it would have the name “Remembermonday” Think of Easter and Christmas what springs to mind?. How many bank holidays we have compared with the rest of Europe, and why shouldn’t it have a respectful name?

Were they not thinking of hanging a couple of dummy 250s under the wings at one point?

As long as they paint them blue and yellow?
