Just found this thread on here perhaps needs merging http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=540
My main interest is why so little damage to a fast jet? and wouldn’t the cockpit show signs of an ejection? I don’t believe any sign of captain Schaffner was found.
I have just found this that seem a more likely story. http://www.bbc.co.uk/insideout/yorkslincs/series1/alien-abduction.shtml
Captain Schaffner Binbrook 1970
Just how much of this is true September 8th 1970 did this really happen? Anyone here know more?
These might be the ones that you saw http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/9376/F86F.htm
There was a certain Lancaster Bomber that had the hangar roof fall in on it. But i suppose it wasn’t really in a museum
It’s on More4 @ 11:15 and Mor4+1 @12:15
I think the flea is now here http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/mus/uk/c-e/doncastermusart.htm along with a Benson Autogyro.
I have to confess. I was guiding him down and did the best i could. (See my avatar):p
I want one…..fantastic detail
I would love to see her engines running if only doing fast taxi runs down the runway, while they get the right power eggs for her. Alright i know about all the problems of fitting the wrong motors, but i’m allowed to dream:diablo:
I have it as a B mk III part of a batch of 340 made at Avro Yeadon if that’s any help.
Would it be JP T.5 XW311 from the news page 16 of FP April 2008? That says its awaiting planning permission. Perhaps not, but its waiting in a car park at Popham.
That is my school!!!
I play football on the field where it was found, i wonder if there are anymore.
Just be careful when you go in with a sliding tackle m8.
We were there. It was a great talk with lots of interesting things about the trip I didn’t expect, even the mrs was talking about it all the way home. We are looking forward to the next time. Nice to see you managed to get some photo’s taken, next time i will bring my camera.
So they preserve not only the aircraft, but also the spirit for witch it fought.
Talk about capturing the moment.
Perhaps no one there knows that the war has ended. I never thought i would start a list of aircraft related museums i shall not be visiting. I now understand why the staff get so much abuse that there has to be a rule about it.
