It was mid August last year. Looking faded though…
I was right about that TFR anyway… 😮 Wasn’t he going to shred it if there were no takers?
The TFR was removed at Blackpool? B******s. It will be smashed to bits in the radome 😡
Good picture angles they have chosen, you can’t see the creases they left in it when they dropped it 3 times.. 😡
Apparently, Vulcans with 200 series pipes will benefit from 558’s return to action as the end caps have to be changed regularly, giving them to museums with Vulcans with Olympus 200’s would no doubt help them as most Vulcans I have seen suffer from this problem.
Peter, when you say rat, do you mean Ram Air Turbine or Bateson? :diablo:
Thanks will great pics
You’re welcome Peter!
😉
And you know who the seller is don’t you….
Peter, send me your email address again please mate, the one you sent me isn’t working for some reason…
If it was a piece of spitty or lanc, I bet most on here would be all over it
Mach 3
So you are saying there should only be one or two examples of all aircraft preserved in the world then Kev. What about in years to come when people would be saying they should have kept more of these jets so that at least some could survive for future generations to see. Surely if they had kept a few more Stirlings and maybe the odd Manchester instead of scrapping them there would be some of these on display somewhere now. I too have seen Vulcans in their element but i don’t think their time is past, Just because i’ve seen them fly it doesn’t mean i wouldn’t want anyone else to enjoy the awesome sight and sound of the Vulcan.
Here here!! I’ve never seen it and can’t wait to do so!
Lets keep to the thread topic please johnathen and michief
Yes, lets…
I tend to agree with HP57, the money that would be spent getting another Vulcan runnable would be better spent on other projects with a lot more significance to aviation history.
Because the Vulcan has no significance at all does it? It only kept the peace in this country alongside the Victor and Valiant for 14 years. Fairey Barracuda or A.W. Whitley – I don’t even know what they look like and I don’t particularly want to. Each to their own at the end of the day.
Hello Gents.
Which Vulcan would you like to see runnable not flyable and why…
Not including the already runnable ones XL426 and XM655.
A Falklands Vet. It would be great to find out what is going on with XM603. Anyone from Woodford out there?
There were plans to run her APU apparently, I don’t know if they managed to acheive this or not..
