Where did Prowlus get the idea that the Fishbed was designed as a multi-role airplane?

Until the bis model, the MiG-21 wasn’t really a multi-role airplane of any sort. It was originally intended to be a daytime short-range interceptor.

Scrub that last comment on the multirole thing, I was thinking of the later Fishbed models but the 21 was really designed as a short range fighter and the draken a long range interceptor so comparing both aircraft would be irrevelant

Both aircraft are completly different to each other in terms of design and mission profile . The Draken was a bomber interceptor and the Mig-21 a multirole fighter . Its a bit like comparing apples to oranges

Wonder if they sent a contingent of their own manned fighters to try and intercept these UCAVS after all the UCAVS have no air-to-air capabilities compared to even an A-10 (sidewinders)

In the beginning Tupolev suggested to build a bomber on the basis of Tu-144, but have chosen Myasishchev M-18,

In the beginning of a theme my figure PAK FA is placed, it is imagination, instead of a reality.

Ain’t that bomber image just a early testshot of the TU-160?

Whats the chances of their new lawndart the Kaveri carrying it? Personally if it did , it probably wouldn’t reach the end of the airfield

I’m suprised they want this new fighter for only 4 squadrons They might as well just update the F-2 into an F-2 Super Kai and finally get the plane they ordered in the first place rather than shell out for off shelf technology and end up having the costs balloon out of proportion (unless they buy the gripen)
On the other hand, how much would it be to upgrade the F-2 into the all dancing all aspect fighter thats being pimped in promos?

I like your list but I think you are over looking a great aircraft from that time period: The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. The US Navy used them for every possible task, fighter, bomber, tanker, trainer, etc. .

Hold a sec. Since when has the US navy used the Skyhawk as a fighter besides topgun? I know alot of foreign airforces use them as makeshift interceptors but at least they didn’t have F-4s and F-8s in the wing aswell

Wonder if they’ve selected a F-4EJ Kai replacement yet which going by the specs looks more like a interim solution than a long term one (Can they really fund a new generation fighter jet alongside their already overpriced planes?)

Does this affect the Rhinos as well? If I recall the E/Fs haven’t been fairing well on the attrition rate the moment they came into service too

I’m suprised the RAF doesn’t have a solid BAM scheme to prevent such incidents in the first place . It may be just a hawk this time but what if it was a Typhoon in the future?

Wonder why didn’t they just buy a version of the harrier II to begin with instead of wasting their money on that overrated merlin helo

Great ship Just like its Sea Harriers irreplacable . Now we have to rely on new carrier that has yet to be finalized with a fighter that has yet to take to the skies let alone drop a bomb or fire a missle!
