Let’s not forget Gene Roddenberry (the series creator) passed some time ago and was an old B-17 driver in the war. And yes, they plan to launch Scotty’s ashes up into space like they have other celebrities, some organization out of Houston TX does it if I recall…

Funny how out of skew off the treddle some of these threads can go….what the hell does the JSF fighter name (although Hurricane IS good) have to do with Battleships and the questions I originally posed on them? C’mon, people, FOCUS…

I had a similar experience in Arizona in ’97 when an audio company had their stereo equipment set up and were playing sounds from the Reno races….folks all over looking for planes that did’nt exist doing low flybys….it was hilarious…

Flanker….yes I am aware of this…hence the irony of the press reporting that there was a ‘wave’ of Lancs…I thnk Moggy’s comments that the other bombers were Lancs too as far as the press is concerned is pretty accurate…

Some folks in here really need to go get themselves a sense of humor….with all that is happening in the world, a president accidentally falling off his bike onto a cop is REALLY kinda funny…no one died and we all get a Gerald Ford incident. If you don’t find it mildly amusing, I don’t want to talk to you.

Gracias, mi amigos…in what has’nt been the swiftest month of my summer, nice to see some folks remember things like this. Still paying the financial price of going to the Corsair gathering last month, limiting my travels the rest of the summer….upside, it looks like I’ve found a new girlfriend (another way to burn up MORE money)…oh well…

    Much appreciated folks-

AS a US resident with 2 Legends under my belt and countless US shows, I have to say I prefer the format of Legends….we don’t clump bunches of planes together over here as much, and we certainly don’t like to ‘mix’ types as much, save for a few shows like Midland…and only Chino has recently tried to mimic the great ‘balbo’ at the end of their show like Legends….but things are changing and some shows are getting more progressive and doing things differently….but I’d still give my eye teeth to be there with you lot for Legends this year…and am VERY curious to know what this year’s ‘surprises’ are…

Another point is that it IS one of the world’s largest warbird gatherings and a very historic field from which it is all done…I would say that like the Midland show and Oshkosh and La Ferte Alais, it is one of THE shows you have to see in your lifetime if you like warbirds….
