Great book, classic stuff….only have a chapter of it in ‘Rag wings and Heavy Iron’, but have read it before and it’s hilarious….well worth whatever you pay for it.

The best I can offer…Dale ‘Snort’ Snodgrass at the Corsair gathering in 2002….looks to me like his wingtip is less than 10 feet ,off the ground from his own shadow….that qualify?

Heck, if you’ve driven from the north of Scotland to the south of England, we want to hear about it (if it was a road trip for an airshow)….don’t be shy, folks, let’s hear about some of those European airshow road trips!

What, no other takers? Come on, you guys, I know there’s some good stories out there….!

Ever seen that painting “Hockey in the Duff’ or ‘They just have to be Canadians”? Shows a Canadian Typhoon buried in snow while mechanics work on it and in the background there is a pond where the Canuck s are playing hockey….two of my favorite things, hockey and warbirds, in one painting…if there was a Jeep in it, that would pretty much cover ALL of it!

Some photos from that particular Phoenix trip, including chasing Sentimental Journey around the airshow circuit, DJ in front of ‘Voodoo Chile’, some of the ‘wildlife’ to be seen there, and the Evergreen Mustang and Corsair turning the pylons…

I’ve got one now…a Matchbox P-51D in Red Tail colors….very nicely done but always falls off it’s stand when I put my feet up and accidentally bump the book case! Scares the hell out of me every time!

A guy here in CO named Gordon Page has recovered a bunch, some ME 109’s and a Hurricane if I recall…also has an ex-Dominican AF MUstang he is working on…http://www.warbirdrecovery.com

He’s over Colorady now…wish he came further north, could’ve put on my long lens and got a few shots of him passing over….oh well….he’s gonna make it! FINALLY got my link to work again….kept getting an error notice ‘overflow at line 91’….don’t know what that means…

Aaaaaannd the link to the tracking site no longer works….wonder if they shut it down?

Welcome to the States!! WHERE will you be residing, do you know? Lots of salmon here in the Rocky Mountains (and great skiing) and a decent collection of birds, but it’s not Chino….but only 1000 miles from it!

Ryan-
A guy at the hobby shop last week was showing me the P-40E kit you are talking about, photo etched parts and such, for a reasonable $27….might do that one…but always looking for a good kit for less, so might try the Academy kit if I can find it in 1/48 and see how it goes….it all just depends on finances, trying to save for airshow season, too…..just bought a wheelbarrow inner tube to use as my airbrush air supply, got it filled….now just need a converter for the hose to make it fit my airbrush! Always, something, right? Someone told me to just buy a tire and go fill it when you need air….a great, cheap alternative to all those expensive compressors (until I can afford one) and only cost $8…
Mark
MIGHT just be a tad of a problem buying my kits there as I live in Greeley, CO USA, but I will be sure to pop on by that shop next time I’m in England….however, for now, I think I can find some at Don’s Hobbies in downtown Greeley…

Alright, will give them a try when I’m looking for my next plane, which will be soon and will probably be a P-40, since I need one…Thanks for the reccomendation…
