Many thanks for the response. I sent the images to Kenmore Aviation but nil response as yet. I found an exploded view of the 44-2425 on the Kenmore website and although they are very similar there are subtle differences. This drawing doesn’t have any dimensions. Do you have any other dimensions for the 44-2425?
They mostly mention “overall length” – that means with bumper but without water rudder. And you’re right – 2425 had sister keelsons – that’s different.
Just found the dimensions:
Length 17′
Width 29”
Height 26”
C 5 (five compartments) guess yours has 7
edit: the very common 2000 has a nearly flat underside (only one sister keelson near the step) and 7 compartments – but has an overall lenght of 16 ft.
Wieesso will be along in a minute with the answer! 😉
As I posted in another forum 😉 it’s definitely EDO – but the exact type is difficult to point to, 17′ was the 44-2425, but this only a guess…
edit: Strange is the total flat front underside without any sister keelsons
Al, that’s an amazing comparison between the two photos! From being so busy to so desolate….
I was up at the Highland Aircraft museum recently at Inverness Airport, and they had a picture of another (now former) airfield at Brackla (Nairn area) to see it packed of Halifaxes for scrapping – the photo shows about 130 of them – now nothing is left of Brackla apart from the odd building and bits of peri-track….
Kind Regards,
Scotty

As an addition to this thread, having never been in the ATC, my non-scheduled “pleasure” flights are a slightly different mix of aircraft:-
April 28, 1997 N636X M.404 Camarillo, ,Ca. – Camarillo, Ca.
RMR
Wow! A flight in a 404 ! Was the time with Skylease Inc 4/6/94 – 4/2/08.
Do you have any photos from this event?
Martin
The aircraft is owned by the Commemorative Air Force. The registration certificate was issue in 2010 and expires at the end of 2013, however the certificate of airworthiness expired in 1986. These are the facts but not too sure of the relevance of the info.
…can only add this about the location
