The ANO or “air law” hasn’t changed that much over the years  Yes there specific rules governing charity flights where money changes hands and the hire/reward clause is exempted.
EASA is slowly consulting and adopting rules acorss Europe, taking rule-making bit out fo the CAA’s hands (though they still have a say). What gets dropped or introduced across the regulatory board will be very interesting.
By the way, PTF=no overflying densley populated areas.
Hopefully I shall be moving into an office soon that is nearer the AACF. 😎
Snowy, what’s the project and where are you based?
I had a hellish time with PFLs on my PPL notwithstanding that the Robin glid like a brick. I got a flat but small and slightly rough field on my GFT that would have got us in but not out. However I attempted it downwind… 😮 Thent he examiner in an act of kindness had me PFL onto 18 at Wellesbourne from 3500ft. Not once was the engine touched and I greased it over the numbers.
Better to be too high than too low, Dean. Well done for being au fait with slip. Doen any slipping turns? Great way of keeping a tight circuit pattern e.g. for nosie abatement. Anyway hopefully my strip time will come in handy when I come to do it again.
So rollovers? You do know you’re supposed to pull through also? Been watching too many WW2 films? Speaking of which a chum learnt on Cherokees during the early 70s out of Coventry. His FI demonstrated diving and used a method from a former WW2 mount. Up the nose went, look what’s on top and then over she goes. Apparently never used by the Allies (they had wingmen doing top cover lookout), only by the Luftwaffe (possibly Stuka?). I haven’t corroberated this though.
Just seen the CPL prices for 2007 where I am. £205/hr dual for a WARRIOR and £235/hr for an ARROW. The total cost seems to have gone up 2k and comes in at a few hundred less than doing the complex part on a Twin Star. I think they want to price the SEP CPL out :-/
Good to hear Michael, she has been out of the skies for too long following the restoration. I landed ahead of this Connie just before she departed Manston. The crew held at the holding point, 4 bright chrome spinners glinting in the Kent sunshine… We later had a very nice meal at Midden Zeeland airfield 🙂
I hope given Lelystad’s expensive AVGAS, the Connie people get a good discount!
Most of our immediate European neighbours accept PFA PTF aircraft within their airspace and I don’t think Austers venture that far. I am keen to see them transfer personally such that the type can be maintained more effectively outside the scope of certified original parts. I used this example to demonstrate that the CAA will do its utmost not to change the status quo. In the Auster case, yes they were getting a message that CofA was still desirable so iirc went off searching for a new TC holder.
Slightly related to ATLT, an accident from two years ago

🙁
That’s a rare surname. http://www.192.com may be able to help. Just out of interest, why are you trying to track the former owner, avinoam549? Is the Piper still a flier out there in Israel?
Shouldn’t this be in the Missiles forum? 😉
A Sidewinder measures 9 foot long and so you’re not as short as it first seems TC 🙂
With those on the airfield I’m definately not going to bust the overhead! Got a launcher set up yet? :diablo:
You won’t get very far with the CAA on your tod, just look at the situation in getting Austers off CofA and onto PFA Permits. 1. Rules are rules and 2. it has always been so so the Authority in doing its business will be reluctant to budge unless a higher authority changes the rules.
I did flag up the PTF issue on another group last month and wonder…
Did you flag it up under the discussion section? You can change it yourself, thats the point of a Wiki 🙂
Already been flagged up here…

Still cool though!
Computer rebooting of its own accord whilst running 3D graphics can be an indication of a graphics card problem, e.g. drivers, overheating. Or you could have a dodgy package.
Hmmm…. 😉
What speed processor and how much memory?
Time ladies and gentleman 😉
What have you added on lately that caused this? 😉
Had similar a while back and edited my scenery.cfg disabling every add-on I could spot.
