Ace Combat 6: Kaihou he no senka
Just wondering:
Does any real RAF Tornado (ADV or IDS version) have the tail code “GM”, similar to this screen capture from the video game Ace Combat 6?

As the blogger at
http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/xb70a/diary/200710280001/
pointed out, in the “Heisei 19 research presentation meeting programme” at
http://www.mod.go.jp/trdi/infomation/happyou/Program.pdf
on page 2, in the “Display section”, scheduled for 2007.11.07, at Hotel Grand Hill Ichigaya, Toukyou; in the “Theme: Ground equipment, E1” chart (in yellow), the third “Display item” is described as “For realisation of Gundam (advanced personal equipment system)”.
As we all knew, the TRDI, if not the entire JMOD, is run by anime dweebs.

Wednesday, 24 October 2007:
Japanese equivalent of GAO announced: ever since JASDF established in 1954, dormitories at 72 JASDF bases in Japan never paid for electricity bills for personal electrical appliances, such as refrigerators, TV, and video game consoles; unlike dormitories at JGSDF and JMSDF bases.
About 30% of 45,000 JASDF members, or 13,000 members, live at dormitories.
For example, at 22 bases, 8,300 members’ electrical bills for 3,300 refrigerators, 5,800 TV, and 16,200 video game consoles and other appliances; are 40 million Yen a year.

Off-Topic Alert
Really, this whole idea of having a purely defensive military is ridiculous to say the least.
“The aggressor is always peace-loving; he would prefer
to take over our country unopposed. To prevent his
doing so, one must be willing to make war and be
prepared for it. In other words, it is the weak, those
most likely to need defence, who should always be armed
to not be overwhelmed.”
– Karl von Clausewitz, circa 1830s

“2ND LD: Prosecutors quiz defense contractor with ties to ex-vice minister+”
[October 19, 2007]
Prosecutors began questioning a former senior managing director of Tokyo-based defense contractor Yamada Corp. on suspicion of causing losses to the company by cooking its books to build a slush fund, sources close to the case said Friday.
The 69-year-old former executive is believed to have had close ties with defense bureaucrats and lawmakers influential in forming defense policy, including former Vice Defense Minister Takemasa Moriya, they said, adding the former executive and Moriya were golfing partners.
Yamada holds the right to sell GE engines in Japan, which will be used in the Air Self-Defense Force’s next-generation CX transport aircraft.
