NIPPI hangar roof collapsed
Record snowfall during the night of Friday 14 to Saturday 15 February 2014 caused the hangar roof of the NIPPI maintenance hangar to collapse aroumd five o’clock on the 15th, damaging six JMSDF Orions.
An MoD official has confirmed that the damaged aircraft were three P-3C Orions, one OP-3C reconnaissance aircraft (9133), one EP-3 electronic intelligence (ELINT) aircraft (9174) and one UP-3D ELINT training aircraft (9161).
We believe that the following three P-3C Orions were in the NIPPI hangar: 5027, 5049, and 5087.

13:37, 160 km northwest of Naha AB, engine trouble, and emergency landed at Kadena AB.
After March 31, repaired, checked, and replaced components, at Kadena AB.
April 2, 13:00, took off.
During test flight, shut down right engine, and could not restart it.
31 March 2014:
E-2C.
JASDF, based at Misawa AB, Aomori Prefecture, and deployed to Naha AB, Okinawa Prefecture.
After replaced right engine, during test flight, shut down right engine, and could not restart it.
Emergency landed at Kadena AB, Okinawa Prefecture.
2014 late February, because electrical system warning, same aircraft emergency landed at Naha AB.

Air Force special exhibit to take off in Taipei tomorrow
