ETC’s Aircrew Training Systems Completes Factory Acceptance Tests for Highly Advanced Suite of Training Equipment for the Republic of Korea Air Force Aeromedical Center
Press Release: Environmental Tectonics Corporation – Tue, Nov 29, 2011 9:02 AM EST
The ATFS-400 Phoenix, like ETC’s prior trainers, integrates high fidelity virtual tactical simulation and creates a fully flyable human training and research centrifuge.
The 25-foot spinning arm is capable of generating up to 15 G’s, and the device comes with two interchangeable cockpit modules supporting F-15K and KF-16 aircraft.
All cockpits feature HLA connectivity and can be inserted as full mission simulators inside the ATFS-400 or used as standalone trainers outside the ATFS-400.

2011.12.02:
JASDF announced accident report.
In drop tank, nut that fastened metal pipe that contained cables was missing.
Cables were part of fuel delivery electromagnetic valve and fuel sensor.
Vibrations damaged cable vinyl insulation, and exposed cable metal wires.
Metal wires and metal part of drop tank short-circuited, and detonated fuel gas in drop tank.
JASDF checked other drop tanks, and 20% had loose nuts.
Old maintenance procedures did not check cable nuts in drop tanks.
Accident drop tank was not checked after 2006.
New procedures open drop tanks, and check cables and nuts, once a year.

Issue #12 of this “Illustrated Guide For Weapons & Tactics” mag may have their photographic evidence.
http://tw.magv.com/ListMag.aspx?mdid=246
OTOH, he has no photographic evidence WRT 66-9200.
Does every F-5 have only one aircraft C/N (construction number) plate in the cockpit, somewhere behind the pilot’s seat?
Or, does it have other C/N plates elsewhere, such as in landing gear bays, or on landing gear doors?
Also, I guess you dudes saw this list of TuAF F-5 S/Ns before?

Although ROCAF practised the scheduled “landing on highway as auxiliary runway” exercise at the Jia Dong section of a national highway in Ping Tung, due to rainy weather and water on highway surface, ROCAF aircraft flew low passes only, and didn’t land.
The F-16 representative was F-16B 6802 of 455th Composite Wing, ROCAF.

The exercise closed the Jia Dong section from 11/14 12 PM to 11/19 8 AM.

Xiao Deng comments:
His data don’t confirm 67-21157 is one of those that went to Turkey.
He doesn’t know whether the F-5A at the Turkish museum is the real 66-14460 / 1242 or not, but the camouflage scheme, and the font and size of the white S/N on the tail fin, look like Taiwanese, and unlike the usual Turkish AF black markings.
If it didn’t actively serve in the Turkish AF, then maybe it was a spare, cannibalised for parts.

Photos dated 2011/11/14, of PLA Black Hawk heloes of Cheng Du military district.
Difficult to read S/Ns though.
FWIW, I’ll forward your comments to Xiao Deng.
OTOH, if able, maybe you and your comrades check the C/N plates on the preserved F-5s to verify their C/Ns and S/Ns?
Personally, I only record ROCAF F-5s that crashed in ROC, and I don’t usually track ROCAF F-5 C/Ns. 8b

Xiao Deng comments:
A few years ago, he bought the book “Turkish Military Aircraft Since 1912” by Ole Nikolajsen, and he thinks the quantity of Taiwanese F-5A/Bs emigrated to Turkey might be fewer.
Six were confirmed.
F-5A: 65-10531, 66-14460 / 1242, 67-21187 / 1292
F-5B: 66-9234 / 1103, 67-21283, 74-0777.
The ROCAF S/Ns of 66-9199 and 66-9200 weren’t 1233 and 1234.
The Turkish AF had 67-21199 and 67-21200, and the last three digits of these two FMS numbers were the same, so there might be some confusion.
66-9199 and 66-9200 emigrated to Viet Nam.
66-9199 later returned to Taiwan, and served 737th and 828th Composite Wings.
66-9200 had no record of returning to Taiwan.
Also, F-5B 1122 was correctly 74-0785.
The F-5B final production 50th batch was jointly ordered by the F-5E early users: Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, ROK, Taiwan, &c.
Jordan isn’t a F-5E early user, and he doubts USA would additionally provide a new aircraft.
