AW139.
Bei Jing Municipal Public Security Bureau Air Corps.
http://www.bjgaj.gov.cn/eng/?COLLCC=807844921&
About 9:12 AM, after SAR training, during RTB, crashed into Mi Yun reservoir, 2-3 klicks from shore, near Huang Tu Kan Village, Bu Lao Tun Town, Mi Yun County.
At first, four of five crew missing, then confirmed as KIAs.
DU Zhi Jing, WANG Bo, TANG Guo Qiang, and XING Song Bo.
About 10 AM, the fifth was rescued, albeit wounded (fractures).
LI Jie.
Reportedly, he was thrown out of the helo, and into the water. Soon, taken to the Mi Yun County people’s hospital.
Said SAR training was to practise for: in rural counties of Bei Jing, recent heavy rains caused floodings and landslides that trapped and wounded people (hikers, villagers, &c), who’d to be airlifted.
Local witnesses claimed: about 8 AM, while they were working, they saw the helo loitered above the reservoir. They seldom saw heloes, so they gawked at the helo while they worked.
About 9 AM, the helo began to descend, nose-down, flew lower and lower, and crashed into the reservoir. It didn’t smoke before the crash, and didn’t explode after the crash.
They wanted to rescue the helo crew, but they didn’t have any boat, so they phoned the authorities.
About 10 AM, one of the speed boats that came to the crash site, rescued one crew from the water, and sped away.
Two other police heloes came to loiter above the crash site, and departed after tens of minutes, while the surface units searched for the wreck and the other crew.
In the afternoon, despite poor (if any) underwater visibility, divers claimed the helo was upside-down, 13 m below surface level.
They also recovered debris to the pier: doors, helmets, seats, window frames, &c.
By 10 PM, two bodies were recovered.
On 18 August, about noon, the other two bodies were recovered.
On 19 August, about 3 PM, the helo was salvaged. Except broken main rotor blades, the fuselage seemed intact.
About 5 PM, the salvage ship delivered the helo to the main dam, where a crane vehicle awaited.
On 22 August, Bei Jing People’s Government authorised to recognise the four crew as “martyrs”.
On 25 August, the four crew’s funeral ceremony.
The corps had about 10 pilots, who all came from PLA Aviation and PLAAF, with minimum 900+ flight hours.

At Sendai AP, one JGSDF EC225 helicopter for government use, and two JMSDF TC-90 trainers were overhaulled by aircraft maintenance company based at Sendai City, and damaged by tsunami on 11 March.
Because EC225 and one TC-90 had dismounted engines, they were not “aircraft subjected to aviation use”, insurance did not cover them, and the country was responsible for their total costs.
Insurance covered the other TC-90 with engine, and paid the country.
