is apparently a retired JASDF fighter pilot + retired Mitsubishi test pilot’s profile. The table at the bottom of the page, lists his aircraft types and flight times.
1,817:45 of 8,142:00 hours were with F-104J.

are scans from his three log books, in which he wrote summaries of the many accidents that he survived. At least the summaries have the exact dates and serial numbers. 8b

Korea’s 1st Female Navy Patrol Pilot Goes to Work
2011/05/05
The Navy has commissioned its first female pilot of a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft.
Lt. Jg. Lee Joo-yeon (26) finished her copilot training for a P-3C aircraft on April 22 and completed her first flight mission Tuesday after a year of basic aviation training.
A few years ago, in Japan, Okayama Prefecture, when the amusement park Okayama Sky Garden (which was on a hill) closed, some aviation fans (yes, maybe the three or so of us) worried if the retired F-104J #687 displayed there would be removed/restored/recycled into BEvERage cans/whatever.
Until last year (2010), the F-104 and the property were neglected.
Last year, a company called Ryoubi announced they would develop the property into a solar-powered, hi-tech, indoor farm.
When the cable car mechanism at the abandoned park was removed, some aviation fans again worried about the F-104, although when asked, the PR department of that company claimed the F-104 would stay at the facility.
On 23 April 2011, the new KSGP (Kyouyama Solar Green Park) formally opened to the public.
Yomped about for some on-line up-to-date photos, and noted a blogger called Arche

went there on or about 25 April, but no F-104 photo.
Seems his hobby is hiking or running.
Bugged him a bit, and he agreed to go back, and to take some new photos,

on 29 April.
(Yes, “Annoyance” is my middle name. How did you know?)
#687 is “as is, where is, with all faults”, which is good enough, as long as she’s not removed/restored/recycled into BEvERage cans/whatever.
Personally, slightly disappointed that no serial number is painted on the canopy frame, at least none on the right side. 8(

You’ll shoot your eye out… with a 1 MW laser pulse pistol
posted Mar 10th 2011 5:12am by Mike Nathan
German hacker [Patrick Priebe] recently constructed a laser pulse gun that looks so good, it could have easily come off a Hollywood movie set.
Its sleek white and black exterior adds intrigue, but offers little warning as to how powerful the gun actually is.
Fitted with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, it fires off a 1 MW blast of infrared light once the capacitors have fully charged.
The duration of the laser pulse is somewhere near 100ns, so he was unable to catch it on camera, but its effects are easily visible in whatever medium he has fired upon.
The laser can burst balloons, shoot through plastic, and even blow a hole right through a razor blade.
] Have the RF-4E’s & RF-4EJ’s taken part in any of the clean-up efforts?
http://followme2.blog19.fc2.com/blog-entry-142.html
FWIW, can’t seem to readily find any news about whether JASDF F-4s, RF-4s, or T-4s were tasked with sorties to the northeastern prefectures or not, after the 3-11 earthquake + tsunami + nuke unpleasantness. 8(
OTOH, the above blog entry claims (in Japanese) WRT JASDF Phantom IIs, a certain pilot isn’t always assigned to a certain WSO.
The pilot/WSO pairings irregularly change.
Better, a pilot isn’t exclusively trained as a pilot, and a WSO isn’t exclusively trained as a WSO.
So, a pilot’s sometimes assigned as a WSO to the back seat, and vice versa.
Thus, the Phantom II crews accumulate and overlap, front and back seats experience.

Left is Zhuang. Right is Jiang.
9:00, took off, from an AB in An Hui Province.
9:31, at 800 m AGL, 220 km/h, and 30 klicks from target AB; Jiang noted the tachometer fluctuated up and down by 50 rpm, thought engine may malfunction, and warned Zhuang. Zhuang warned the ground controller.
They continued to scan the other gauges, such as engine temperature and hydraulics pressure.
9:32, Zhuang again reported the aircraft was shaking, and hard to control. Engine whined, and tachometer fluctuated +/- 300 rpm.
Wingman, driven by JIANG Ting and SHI Zhong Wei, saw the accident aircraft was shaking left and right, up and down, and was descending.
9:35, engine stopped, aircraft was descending, and ground controller authorised the pilots to eject.
Zhuang replied they were 28 klicks from the AB, and would emergency land.
9:37, they chose a flat wheat field. Just before touch down, they saw a villager (WANG Dao Cai, 63 man), pulled up and left, and changed the touch down spot. Aircraft climed 2-3 m, glided forwards another 200 m, and missed the villager.
They also missed the optimal touch down spot. Left wing hit a power lines pole, then two poplar trees.
