Why do they need Subsidies?

Airbus are using the subsidies to sell their aircraft at heavily reduced rates. This has the knock on effect that simply they sell more aircraft.
But the discounts they give can only mean they break even or make a loss with many of the orders.

The loans are only for development.

A mere example: NWA reportedly got their A330s for $80M each… from a list price of considerably more. If true that is a huge discount.. a loss making discount.

who buy airliners to the list price?

This has the effect that the books show Airbus are selling more… but not making near as much money as they should be.

Airbus make in the last years more money as Boeing-civil

The EU and China markets combined is much bigger than the US market.

The EU alone is a bigger market as the US…
