And the 777, launched and produced after the A340, is nearing 500 BUILT 😀

and Airbus is produce more Aircrafts as Boeing 😀

EDIT: btw:

The original comment about “so many promises, so little delivered” was referring to performance figures that both manufacturers promised for their aicraft while in production. The MD-11 came out a lot short of what MD had promised. Then for airbus we have the A340-300 and the A340-600. But more successfull than the MD-11 for sure… but both where promised to have far more range than they actually have, and such was the situation with the MD-11.

The MD-11 is the A340 of McDonnell Douglas. So many promises made, so little delivered.

The large fighter have a higher payload and more Range (maybe you need it) but a bigger RCS and cost more money.

The small(er) fighters have often the same(or better) electronic, a good(or better) Radar, smaller Payload(but still one rocket can kill a enemy fighter), smaller Range, are cheaper and can easier operate from Road bases

It will be more possible the the usa sell F-16s (A,b,c,d) as sweden will sell the Gripen to Pakistan. Remember Pakistan is USAs friend in the “war on terror”

the F-35 is no attack helicopter. It is still a fighter like the F-16, Eurofighter usw.

i dont think the F-35 would make the job as good as the a-10.

The USAF should buy the F-35A manly and only a few -Bs. They need a Fighter for A2A and A2G who manly operate from airports
