Not a BIG ENOUGH market to warrant them building a direct competitor.

beistrich, remember that orders mean absolutely nothing until delivereis have taken place and the bird has to prove itself in service. Then we’ll see how it fares.

yeah i forgot you think all orders are only jokes, the A380 will not fly and aliens will come to buy boeing-planes :p

btw: Boeing did say there ist no market for such a big plane.

the A300 and A310 do not number nearly as many as the DC8s and 727’s alone. Besides, we’re talking about most efficient. the A300 or a310 do not come into this.

I think efficiency in terms of versatility will be a Turboprop’s domain. They can in and out of strips jets cannot even hope to get into.
As to which turboprop is the most efficient. Pass

    there are soooooo many variables.

    lol
The A300/A310 not as effizent as the Dc8/727? Nonsense

Well and there many A300F out there

There are many sheiks who have privats A340

And some aircrafts (A340-500) from Qatar Airways did only fly as “privat jet”

Boeing say there are no market for the A380

I wonder why there are nearly every month orders for this bird 😀

Theres is no way you can mention the A380F here. Its not built!

ok no A380F and B747A (freighter)

I’d like to see a 737 landing on an ice runway.

By that I mean a runway which is actualy nothing more than a crude runway, bulldozed on top of a glacier! That would rip a 737 apart!
Thats where the turboprops come in.

The most popular Jet cargo planes are

DC8, 727, 747 and DC-10. but these aren’t all as versatile in terms of where they can operate as the humbe turbo prop.

    and A300/A310 too.

And of course, triple Sevens divert to winter airports miles from no where on a regular basis 😉
Personaly, knowing of the extra safety features a long range twin needs to have.. I’d feel safer on a twin, be it an A330, 757 or 777.

flying a 757 trans atlantic in 2 weeks, looking forward to it.

    i feel on a A340 or B747 safe too

Of course it will be more than the F-16, the Su-35 is simply bigger, carries more thrust and much more internal fuel than aircraft using both internal and external fuel, duh duh duh. lay of the crack pipe and get out of the thread if you’re going to be anti-Russian. There’s only room for one of those and it’s going to be me! 😀

He is not anti-russian, he is only ultra-pro-f-16 😉

Sure (remember it’s Sure not Shure) the Gripen is nice if your country is the size of Switzerland, has barely any hostile air threats, friendly with western nations and the money. Other wise you need alot of bases to get that leg-less Gripen anywhere, not to mention Swedish export policies and the fact that it’s much more costlier than other fighters of it’s class and costlier than some versions of new F-16s! 😮 and people thought i was crazy.. 😀

You can say the same about the small F-16.

    The Gripen is very cheap
