I’ve long thought that the Dart was like that to reduce it’s overall length – but that’s all it was, a thought.

Mondariz – I thought I might send an e-mail too until I saw this on their homepage:

“Beginning June 2004, the ASC History Office will no longer actively manage this public web page. The information and photographs provided here remain available for use by researchers, but we regret that we will be unable to respond to requests for further information.”

Yes, I was thinking of external noise.
But it is interesting to hear of a system applied to inside – anyone know if the technology for that is anything like I described?

    Glad the occupants ok.
The word “crash” does make a ‘good’ headline doesn’t it!
I would speculate a forced landing that ended in the aircraft tipping onto it’s nose. Journalists – don’t ya love ’em.

Yes, there’s something badly wrong with that statement.
There was, I believe, no connection between the He 178 and it’s von Ohain designed Heinkel jet unit and the P-59 which was powered by a Whittle engine. In fact I would go on to question that anything on the Airacomet came from German technology.

similarly, I think the Banshee a good looking aeroplane but know little more than the basics about it.

Great pity there isn’t one or two of the early USNavy carrier-bourne jet types on display in the UK.

Does anyone know if he is still alive and where he lives?

Don’t know where he lives but somewhere between Swindon and Jersey I should think as he still works on BBC Radio – Radio Swindon, Radio Wiltshire and Radio Jersey.

Very nice – a lot more attractive than the Zlins we are familiar with.

Hope you are able to keep us informed of it’s progress.

Lucky B – nice set of pics.
Liked the Stampe parasol in the last one 😀
Also in the last one a late model Pou du Ciel crept into the pic – got a full photo of it?

….. but we also had to strip all existing interior parts from ’95 and dump them……

Looks very vice and well cared for. The interior shots show a lot inside – is it conplete?

    Contact Will Jarman at http://www.classicflight.com
he is the PR guy at the flight and should be able to produce something suitable

LL – I don’t think Will works for Classic Flight anymore – although I believe he continues as a volunteer.

Throw in my bit of wishful thinking.
If it were capable of flight to, eg, Bruntingthorpe might the Australian operator offer some support to maintain a spares source?
